JULY 15, 1860

Lilly saw Caly come riding into town, and she waved at her. She hadn't talked to her much. To her Caly seemed to have changed, but her friends seemed to not have noticed. It was as if they were hiding the fact that they knew she was different.

Caly saw Lilly, and she waved back. Caly knew she hadn't spent much time getting to know Lilly. She thought now was as good a time as any to do that. She wasn't due back at home until later. Coming into town she saw Cody and Jimmy, so she knew if she felt unsafe all she had to do was tell them.

Caly made her way over to where Lilly stood watching her. Climbing off Star, which was short for Starbright. Caly tied her to the post and greeted Lilly.

The two decided to have lunch together. They went over to the hotel restaurant. After getting their table they ordered. They sat there and talked a good part of the afternoon. They both realized that they could be good friends.

Lilly knew that Caly had one or two female friends if any at all. But Caly was good friends with all the riders, and she wouldn't mind getting to know them better and Caly, too.

Caly liked the idea of having another female friend. She had Lee and Lou but only the other riders knew that they were girls. Then there was Meg. She had gotten close to her, but she hadn't seen her much since her competition for Bucks love was Megs best friend, Corey.

Both girls knew they had started to be good friends today and planed on getting together again soon. They left the restaurant and headed back to their jobs with a wave and an agreement to meet again soon.
