JANUARY 12, 1861
Lilly’s was having second thoughts about marrying Javier.
Charlie could tell that his favorite waitress was distracted. "Lilly, What’s wrong?"
"Nothin’, why?"
"Don’t lie to me, I can tell something’s wrong. Now come on what is it?" Lilly kept quiet and looked at her ring and bracelet. "Nervous about the wedding?"
"Kindda"
"Oh that’s just natural."
"But Javier doesn’t know about my past."
"Well, if he asked you to marry him before asking about your past then my guess would be that it don’t matter to him."
"Yeah, but my past could destroy his future. How can I do that to the man that I love? But at the same time, I can’t live without him and still be happy."
"Well, what you need to do is tell him about your past and tell him how you feel. Chances are he still won’t care."

"We can announce to the town that we’re gettin’ married at the Square Dancing Gradation that’ll be fun. What do you think?"
"Umm, Javier, we need to talk." Javier looked at the love of his life as he continued. "Are you sure that you want to marry me?"
"Of course I am! I wouldn’t have asked if I didn’t want to." Javier said puzzled.
"You don’t know my past. It could come back and haunt the both of us and our children." Lilly said sadly, looking down at her feet.
"I don’t care about your past. I love the person you are now, not the person that you were before." Javier tried to reassure her. He could handle anything from her past. Or so he thought.
"You don’t know what I’ve done."
"Lilly, I don’t have to know, but if you want to tell me, I’ll be here and I’ll listen. It doesn’t matter, I love you and nothing can change that."
"I can’t tell you."
"Ok, but please don’t let it ruin our happiness."
She felt like he was pressuring her to tell him. Maybe it was her own conscience that was pressuring her to tell him. "Javier, I can’t tell you that I used to be a whore!" She blurted out not realizing until it was out that she had indeed told him.
While Javier was shocked, he looked at her with loving eyes and reassured her, "That doesn’t matter now. You’re not that now."
"Javier if someone finds out, it could ruin your business."
"They have nowhere else to get their supplies, I doubt they will boycott our store. Besides this town seems to different than other towns. This town gives people a chance to start over, and they don’t care what happened before you came to Dreamville."
"You do seem to right there."
"Lilly, I love you, and I don’t care what you did for a living before you came to Dreamville. I still want to marry you."
"Really?" Lilly asked with hopeful eyes.
"Really." Javier said as he kissed her.
"Javier, can I invite someone from my past? I mean he helped me to get away, and he told me about this town. If he had never done that, then we wouldn’t have met, and I’d probably be dead by now."
"Of Course Lilly. If it would make you happy, you can invite him."
"Thank you. And can we get married on Easter? I always wanted to get married on Easter."
Javier smiled, this was the Lilly that he fell in love with, "Anything you want, My Dear."

Dear Mr. Witemore,
Thank you for my new life. I have met a wonderful young man who wants to marry me despite my previous employment. It would have never happened if you had not come along and saved me. Please come to Dreamville on Easter for my wedding.
Sincerely,
Lilly
Lilly took her letter to Blythe to mail. Hopefully Mr. Witemore would receive it.
