OCTOBER 9, 1861
Even though Susan did not know Buck and Caly
all that well, she was still living at the station, so she helped Rachel, Lee, and Lou
make the curtains for their house as a wedding present. Luckily on this day Buck was out
on a run and they didn't have to worry about him barging in. Susan and Rachel found
themselves teaching Lee and Lou how to sew. The curtains were coming along great though.
Lee and Lou seemed to pick it up quickly.
After Jimmy got home from his run, he and
Lee spent some time together, and then came back to the station. The plan was to take
Susan out to dinner at the Silver Spoon, but Caly came riding up and told Lee that Steven
needed her at the ranch for an hour or so. "Pa, said he was sorry for calling you out
to the ranch on your day off, but it's very important.
He wouldn't tell me what it was though."
"You two go ahead. I'll see you when
y'all get back home." Lee said.
"Are you sure?" Jimmy asked Lee
looking into her eyes. He knew how much Lee liked to eat out now that she could be
herself. Every once in a while, she liked to
get all dressed up though she preferred to wear trousers most of the time.
Lee smiled, "Yeah, I'm sure. You two go
and have fun. I'll see you when I get back."
"OK." Jimmy said as he kissed his
bride-to-be.
Lee changed clothes and then rode off with
Caly.
Charity was working in the kitchen when
Jimmy and Susan walked in. She saw Charlie give them a small table. When Charlie came back
to the kitchen, Charity asked, "Who is that with Jimmy?"
"Oh, he sad her name was Susan and that
she was an old friend of his."
*Hummm, I wonder if Lee knows about his old
"friend,"* she thought to herself. *That two timing, low down. I mean I don't
know Lee very well, but I don't think she deserves this!*
Paul took Jimmy's and Susan's order and went and told Charity. After Jimmy and Susan had their dinner, Elena stopped by to see Charity. Charity told Elena about Jimmy bringing in an old `friend' who was pregnant and that Lee was not with them and how he was cheating on Lee.
