JANUARY 16, 1860

"Oh stop nagging me so much Tyson, If I wanted your opinion, I'd have asked for it!"

Tyson grinned at his sister who was sitting grumpily behind the bar. "That's the problem Kim, You dont ask, but I'm nice enough to give it to you anyway. I know you've been trying to avoid the people in this town but its not going to work. We have a business to run and that means you have to talk to the customers."

"Hmmpf," she muttered as she picked up her purse, "You talk enough for the both of us, I'm just doing this to keep you from annoying me okay?"

"Okay but be sure to pick a nice one," he added as he practically pushed her out of the door.

She glared back as the door shut behind her. Drat him, and his well-meaning ways,

It wasnt the first time she'd thought that about her brother, and it definitely wasnt going to be the last.

Looking around the various establishments Kimberly was actually starting to enjoy herself, she hadnt really had a good look at the town. Tyson had been right, she was avoiding it, but to her surprise she discovered that she quite liked what it had to offer.

She was just passing a building when she happened to look in the window, the sign said Pony Express Gazette, and to her amazement she found herself walking up the ramp and through the doors.

A friendly voice immediately sounded out around her.

"Hi, may I help you?"

Kimberly turned in the direction of the voice, her eyes falling on the young owner.

"Um, yes you can actually, I'd like to place an advertisement for my business, The Rusty Trigger, I'm Kimberly Marmont."

"Oh right, Well I'm pleased to meet you Kimberly, I'm Jacyella, and I'm sure we can fix up an ad that you'd be happy with."

Kimberly walked out of the Pony Express Gazette in a much better mood than she had walked in with. There was something about that Jacy girl, which made Kimberly want to open up to her and that didnt happen a lot.

By the time she came to the dress shop she had a silly smile on her face, somehow she just couldnt get rid of it. Tyson was determined to get her to the dance even though she didnt have a date, but somehow that didnt bother her as much as it did before.

On entering Jasmines Boutique she discovered a lovely dress of a beautiful dark green, green being her favorite color. She immediately fell in love with it.

The shop owner noticed Kimberly staring at the dress and called out to her, "May I help you with that dress? It wont take much adjusting to fit you." Kimberly turned around to find a slim woman with stunning green eyes standing behind her.

"You dont need to convince me. I'm already sold on it," she said as she touched the soft fabric.

"I'm Jasmine by the way, is the dress for the Valentines dance?"

"Oh, I'm Kimberly Marmont, my brother and I own the saloon, and yes it is for the dance, actually I could use a new pair of boots too, these ones are falling apart and I always seem to trip up in them "

"Well we have a good selection of shoes and boots, I'm sure you'll find the right ones"

Jasmine pointed her in the right direction while she took the green dress off the hook.

Kimberly was humming a little tune as she walked to the saloon with her arms full of packages. She didnt notice a bump in the road ahead and was rather surprised to find her purchases flying up in the air and herself falling down into a puddle.

She sat on the ground a little shocked by it all and watched as town folk scrambled to help her up and gather her things.

"Miss, miss, are you alright?" Asked one concerned fellow.

"Im pretty great actually, and thank you all for helping me up." Kimberly grinned as she dusted herself off. The people in this town arent so bad after all, in fact, I'm beginning to like it here, she thought as she headed back to the saloon.
