THE BAKE/CRAFT/RAFFLE SALE!

FEBRUARY 14, 1860

When Absalom and Kathleen got to the dance, there were already some people there, eating and talking. The raffle, craft, bake sale was a huge success. Kathleen liked the dress that was the prize for the Raffle drawing, so she bought a ticket.

Kathleen and Absalom saw some of the donations that they wanted. They each bought a cameo, a necklace, and a friendship bracelet. They spent a total of $1.75 each on jewelry. Absalom bought these items for his mother and to help out the school. Kathleen had no jewelry and thought that this was a good time to start her collection. She went on to buy a hat for a $1.00, and she bought the Hope Chest for $10.00 to store her clothes in. When she saw the children's books, she thought that would make a great start on the school library and bought them for 50 cents. Kathleen spent a total of $12.25 and Absalom spent a total of $3.75.
