stopped Storm in front of the bank. It was a chilly day but spirits were high in the town
due to the Valentines Dance that was a week away. The door chimed as she entered the
bank. "Hello, Miss Jamison." "Hello, Mr. Brown. I need to make a withdrawal." "Yes, Maam. How much will the withdrawal be for?" "Ten dollars, please." "Okay, just sign right here and youll be all set," Ted said as he handed her the money and a withdrawal slip. "There you are." Karen signed the paper with her pretty handwriting. "Have a nice day, Mr. Brown." "Thank you. You too." After leaving the bank, Karen headed over to Jasmines Boutique. She needed to get a nice dress. She definitely wanted to wear something special for her date with Ike. When she got to the store she noticed that it was awfully busy. Jasmine and Rose were both working very hard to help all the ladies that wanted new dresses for the Valentines Dance. "Hello, Karen," Jasmine said as Karen walked into the store. "Hi. Busy day." "Yes. Ill be with you as soon as I am done. Please, look around." "Sure. Take your time." Karen browsed the store for about a ten minutes before she saw the perfect dress for the dance. It was forest green with a scooped neckline. The bodice was fitted and then flared out at the waist. "That dress would look really beautiful on you." Rose said, coming up behind Karen. "Oh! You scared me." "Sorry. Are you looking at that dress to wear to the dance?" "Yes. Its so beautiful. Im going to get it." "Great. Let me wrap it up for you. Is there anything else that you want?" "Well, I will look around. Erin just came in and I think she is looking for you." "Okay. Just let me or ma know when you are done." "Ok." Wandering through the small store, she found a pair of heeled boots and a lacy shawl that was an exact match to the color of the dress she had already picked out. Karen walked over to the desk where Jasmine was just finishing up the books from her previous customer. "Are you all set, Karen?" "Yes, Rose brought my dress over earlier. She said she was going to wrap it up." "Its right here. Let me get these wrapped for you too. Rose!" Jasmine called. When Rose made her way to the desk, Jasmine handed her the shoes and shawl. "That will be a total of $8.05" "Here you go," Karen said as Rose handed her the three boxes. "Thank you." "Your welcome," Rose replied. "Have a nice day, Karen," said Jasmine as Karen got ready to go. "Thanks. You too. Bye, Rose." "Bye," Rose called as Karen walked to the front of the store. |
