Josie picked up two letters, one from her mother and another from her friend. Her mother's letter told her that she was doing fine, and for Josie to visit with her uncle and cousin as long as she wanted to. But the letter from her friend told Josie that her mother was very lonely and missing her. Josie had stayed longer than she had planned. She was beginning to think it was time to head home even though she would miss her uncle and cousin. She was happy that they were doing fine, and that they had such loyal friends here in Dreamville. She decided that she would need to find some transportation back home. She wasn't sure when the stagecoach would be back in town. Maybe Simon would know, so she went to find him.

As she was walking over to the hotel, Josie saw Jacy leaving the jailhouse. She seemed to be in a chipper mood, so Josie decided that she would stop by and see her later. "Good afternoon," Josie said to Meghan.

"Good afternoon," Meghan replied after looking up from the hotel register.

"You had a wonderful party, Meghan." Josie smiled. "I had a great time."

"Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself." Meghan returned the smile.

"Well, I'll let you get back to your work. I'm here to see my uncle." Josie said as Meghan nodded. Josie continued on to the dining room area and found Simon.

Simon stood up as Josie approached. "Hello, Josie, what brings you here?"

"I was wondering if you knew when the next stagecoach will be coming through?" Josie inquired.

"Oh, are you leaving us so soon?" Simon sadly asked. He had come to enjoy his niece's visit after she had stopped reprimanding him for lying to her.

"Yes, it's time for me to head home. Mother needs me." Josie replied.

"Oh, is she sick again?" Simon was worried about his sister.

"No, she's just very lonely. She needs someone to look after her. Here you have Javier and lots of friends. She only has me." Josie took a seat at her uncle's table.

"Oh, well I'm glad she isn't sick. I think the stage should be coming in tomorrow." Simon's meal arrived and as Josie stood up to leave, Beauregard came walking over from his table.

"I couldn't help but hear you say that you were leaving, Josie. Maybe next time you come for a visit to Dreamville, you'll be able to come by train. We're expanding out this way as fast as possible. Next week the tracks will be going by Dreamville and soon we'll have a train station set up right outside town." Beauregard loved to brag about the expansion of his railroad.

"That would be good. It would be faster getting back and forth." Josie replied and then she excused herself and left. Beauregard joined Simon to talk over what it would mean to him for the train to run near Dreamville.

Josie walked over to the PEG, but before she could knock on the door, Melissa came running out and ran into Josie, "OH! I didn't see you. I'm sorry. Are you alright?"

"Yes, no harm done. Where are you going so fast?" Josie asked.

"I'm going to go saddle up our horses. Jacy and I are going to ride out to our new home." Melissa replied and then hurried on to the stables.

Jacy stepped outside. "She's so excited."

"I can see." Josie smiled as she watched Melissa running around Caller Bob's horse chanting that her sister was back home. "I think a lot of people are excited that you're back." She continued to stare down the street as Cody came galloping into town.

"So what can I do for you?" She inquired.

"Oh, well I just wanted to stop by and say hello." Josie said as Cody came bounding up on the boardwalk. He kissed Jacy on the cheek.

"Hello," she said to Josie and then she turned right around and said, "Hello," to Cody.

"So what are you lovely ladies talking about?" Cody smiled. He was very happy that his girl was back.

"I just arrived." Josie replied.

"I'm waiting for Melissa to bring the horses, so we can ride out to our new home." She answered.

"Well, I better run on." Josie said. "If I don't see you before I leave, goodbye Jacy, Cody."

"You're leaving ma'am?" Cody inquired.

"Yes, as soon as the stagecoach shows up. I need to get back home to my mother." Josie felt kind of strange around Jacy like she didn't even know her. She realized that she hadn't associated with Jacy that much before she had left, but well, she just couldn't put her finger on it. She felt uneasy in her presence. Maybe Jacy was looking that way because she wanted to be alone with Cody for awhile. She had just got back and hadn't seen him for months. "Well, goodbye."

"You have a safe trip ma'am." Cody said.

"Yeah, have a safe trip." She told Josie for she felt that she should say something.

Josie walked down the boardwalk and turned into the mercantile.
