AUGUST 18, 1860

"Good Morning Blythe." Lee said as she walked up to the post office counter. "Do I have any mail?"

"It hasn't come in yet. With everyone switching jobs the pouch hasn't been on time lately." Blythe disappointedly said.

Just then Simon walked in with the pouch, "I tell you, this job is harder then it looks." He handed Blythe the pouch. "I sure hope we get to change back to our old jobs soon," and he left quickly to check on the store and to see how Cody was doing. Then he headed back to the station.

As Blythe sorted the mail, Corey and Clover walked into the store. Clover stopped Corey and asked, "Why did you disguise yourself as a man and ride for the express? There are jobs out there for women, you know. You could have been a waitress."

"Because I know I could do the job just as good as any man and I didn't want to not get the job because I was a woman. The pay as a rider is much better then a waitresses' pay. I also needed the money and opportunity to travel to find my family."

"Well, only ugly girls can pull off a disguise like that." Clover said in a holier then now voice. Inside she resented Corey for making more money then her and being close to Noah. If she could pull it off, she would do the same thing to get Ivy away from Noah.

Since Corey thought that Clover was just being her old obnoxious self she blew it off. Lee who had heard the whole thing practically ran Jimmy over while trying to get out the door.

"Lee!" Jimmy called after her to no avail. She didn't hear him. He was about to go after her when Blythe spoke, "Oh Lee, here's that letter I bet you were waiting for." But Lee wasn't around.

Corey had seen Lee run out, so she told Jimmy about the conversation that she had just had with Clover. They both knew that Lee would have taken it personally.

"I'll take the letter to Lee, Blythe." After claiming Lees letter Jimmy headed for the spot where Lee went when she was upset. But first he stopped off at the Silver Spoon and asked Charity for a couple of lunch plates to go. Jimmy grabbed his makeshift, last minute picnic lunch and headed for the pond. When he got there, Lee was sitting under a tree. "This is yours." He offered her the letter.

"Thanks."

"Lee, sweetheart, you can't take what Clover said personally. First of all look who we are talking about. Clover is trying to break Noah and Ivy up. Second of all, she doesn't know what she's talking about. You are the most beautiful woman I know."

"It's not just what Clover said. Well, its part of it. But I wish I could dress up and have a night on the town like a real lady."

"You are a real lady, and I don't want to hear you say otherwise. I love you for who you are, LeAnne."

Teaspoon and Jesse, who were looking for Jimmy, just heard the tail end of the conversation where Jimmy was professing his love. When they rounded the corner they say Jimmy and his love in a deep kiss. They didnt recognize Lee right away.

"Jimmy! We're been looking for you." Jesse said.

"Boy you don't interrupt a man during a tender moment like this. We can wait until he can talk to us." Teaspoon informed Jesse.

At the sound of Jesses and Teaspoons voices, Lee was horrified and the tender moment was gone. Lord please don't let that be who I think it is. Lee prayed as Jimmy turned around. He turned around so that his body practically covered Lee from their view.

When Jimmy turned around, Jesse continued. "They need you at the saloon."

"I'll start back in just a minute."

"Well, aint ya goin' to introduce us to your friend? I don't know of any LeAnne in town and me being the sheriff, she might need my help. I'd like to know who I'm helping." Teaspoon said.

Jimmy had no choice now. He couldn't protect her secret any longer. He had to reveal who he was kissing. He hoped that Lee understood.

Lee did understand. She had allowed herself to be careless and she had got caught. All she could do now was let God take care of it. As Jimmy moved out of the way, Jesse and Teaspoon simultaneously said, "Lee?"

Teaspoon ran a hand through his hair and shook his head. All this time he had a girl riding for the Pony Express.

"Teaspoon, doncha go firiner just because shes a girl. Shes as good as any of us." Jimmy defensively said.

Teaspoon shook his head again and said, "I dont have time to think about this now, Jimmy. Jacy has run off. Theyve found Gavins stolen horses, and theres a mob growing in the saloon. They want to find Jacy and lynch her. Cody and Buck are out looking for Jacy now, and I need you to help Mayor Bob keep an eye on the outraged citizens while I try to locate Jacy, too, and put her under my protection."

"Well alright, lets go." Jimmy and Lee both started for their horses while Teaspoon and Jesse mounted up. Teaspoon sent Jesse back to the station to inform Rachel what was happening, and him, Jimmy and Lee rode back to town.
