Teaspoon had finally gave Jesse a horse to take care of why he was working for the station. Now Jesse could ride back and forth to school like Rose. He had been doing just that all week, and on Wednesday he had asked Rose if she could go for a ride with him after school on Friday. She had received permission from her mom and dad. So after school Jesse and Rose went for a ride together.

When they stopped to relax at Cricket Creek, Jesse showed Rose the article he had wrote for the PEG. "I didnt put my name on it because . . . well, you know."

"Because you were embarrassed to?" Rose asked.

"Yeah, well, something like that."

"But its a very good article. I wish I had known that you had wrote it."

"Why?" Jesse raised his head to look into her beautiful brown eyes.

"Because then I would have asked you if you would like to go fishing?"

"So whats stopping you from asking me now?" Jesse asked.

"Well, nothing. Would you like to go fishing tomorrow?" Rose smiled at him. He returned the smile.

"I would do anything with you." Jesse replied.

"Well, I think we better head back now. Mom told me not to be gone very long."

"Alright, well head back now." Jesse helped Rose mount up and then he followed her down the trail. Soon he was riding beside her and they were talking about going fishing tomorrow.

After Jesse left Rose at her house he galloped on home. He was getting hungry and wanted to make sure he got some supper before Cody ate it all. Because ever since Easter, Cody had suddenly gotten his appetite back.

After Jesse left Rose put her horse in the barn, and thought about an article that she could write for the PEG.
