After school, Brianna and Jemima followed along behind Michael, Melissa and Jesse. Brianna rode with Jemima. Jemima after pouting for the longest time that the other kids rode their horses to school, she received a horse from her ma for Christmas last year. She kept him at the livery stable since they didn't have a barn.

After arriving at Michael's home, Brianna and Jemima watched as the other three starting swinging their ropes. "Whacha you doing?" Jemima asked.

"We're practicing." Melissa said.

"I'll go get the calf and bring her into the corral." Michael said as he walked toward the barn.

"We're entering the rodeo so we have to practice." Jesse said.

"Yeah, we're entering the calf roping contest for kids." Melissa said as she roped Jemima.

"And I'm going to go on the cattle drive with my father this year so I have to practice for that, too." Michael said as he led the calf into the corral.

After about an hour, Jesse saw that the two girls were interested. "Hey I got an idea. Do you want to learn calf roping, too?" Both girls nodded. "Then come on we'll teach you!"

Both girls got the hang of it within a couple of tries, although it did take Jemima longer to catch on. After a while, both girls rode home to tell their parents.
