APRIL 24, 1860

Jacy went with Ted to the general store. She helped him pick out a few things for Meg and Luke�s wedding presents. Some towels and soap for Meg and some buckets, a saw and a hammer for Luke. After Jacy helped Ted, she decided on some plates, utensils and cups for Meg and Luke. While they were shopping Samantha joined them. She purchased some pots and pans for the engaged couple. "I think your store is going to be buzzing with people buying wedding presents." As Jacy said this to Javier, Drucilla, Caller Bob and Teaspoon came walking in. Jacy and Javier grinned.

"So this is where all the pretty ladies are congregating." Caller Bob said, and Teaspoon agreed. Everyone exchanged hellos, and Drucilla told Samantha that she had dropped off the lumber to Justin, so he could begin building the table and chairs for the blessed couple.

Caller Bob and Jacy began talking while the sheriff went up to Simon and asked him about ordering some rocking chairs. He was going to give them as wedding presents to Meg and Luke. Caller Bob had already talked with Simon about giving the couple one free month of food. Simon would just add it to Caller Bob�s account.

"Well, I didn�t know the store was going to be so busy!" Desiree exclaimed as she entered. After finding out why everybody was shopping, she decided to get the couple something, too. She didn�t see anything in the store that struck her fancy. She did however see something that captured her attention as Teaspoon was flipping through the sales catalog. Desiree stopped Teaspoon by putting her finger on the object of her desire. "That�s perfect! I�ll get that for Meg and Luke." But her face dropped as she noticed the price. She hadn�t planned on paying that much for a wedding present.

"What�s wrong, Desiree?" Walter asked as he entered the store and noticed her expression.

"I was going to get this for Meg and Luke, but it�s a little bit too much." She replied as her hand was still attached to the page.

Walter looked at the object in the catalog and said, "Why don�t we go together and buy it."

That lifted Desiree�s spirits again, and then she told Simon to order it for them. After seeing what Desiree and Mr. Simmons were getting the couple, Jacy had a wonderful idea, and after telling the group, they all liked it and decided to do it. Everyone left the store together except Teaspoon. He was the last to leave after instructing Simon to order the rocking chairs.
