Ike rode into the Lincoln waystation, which also was the stagecoach station for the town. He handed off the mochilla to the rider and then watered his horse. He saw that the stagecoach was already here. He went inside and saw Dev, Mr. Hopkins and three passengers seated around the table having lunch.

Mr. Hopkins smiled and said hello to Ike as he got up and fixed Ike a plate of grub. Dev also said hello to Ike as he sat down. Dev had met him at the Valentines dance, introductions had been made by Teaspoon. There wasnt much conversation at the table. The young newlyweds couple told them they were heading for California where the young mans uncle was going to help them get a fresh new start.

The other young lad at the table didnt say barely a word, but Dev knew he was heading for Dreamville because he had rode up front with her asking her question after question about Dreamville. She really didnt think that it was odd that he was being so inquisitive because he told her that he planned on making it his permanent stop.

After lunch the passengers climbed back aboard the stagecoach, but this time the young lad climbed inside instead of sitting by Dev. He had processed as much information as he could from Dev. The rest would have to be learned in Dreamville. After the stagecoach took off, Ike mounted Shyster and headed for Dreamville and the waystation.
