| INTRODUCING WILD BIRD! | |
October was gone but brought some new citizens to Dreamville. Teaspoon, the Sheriff, hired boys to work as mail riders and a nice lady named Laura Brooks arrived looking for a job that Catherine gave to her as a cook and maid in the hotel. Wild Bird had already met the boys and they seemed nice to him. Sometimes when they are passing by they stopped to talk with Bird and he was enjoying their talks. They are curious about this old Sioux, Bird thought. He had really liked Buck maybe because he was an Indian just like Bird and seemed to know how much it costs to an Indian to live among the white people. Catherine saw the boys around sometimes but she never talked with them except for Buck, they talked once or twice but Catherine was keeping distance. But that was about to change on the next couple of weeks. Catherine was riding not too far from the town as she did almost everyday in the evening, but that day was different, she came out from behind a rock and a rider coming on his way to Dreamville scared her horse. Catherine fell from the horse and the rider stopped to see what happened with her. "Are you ok, ma'am?" The rider asked standing beside her as he held out his hand to help her to stand up. Catherine was all dirty and her dress was full of dirt of the road. She was mad and rejected his help and yelled at him instead, "Am I ok?!! What were you thinking? You idiot!!". "Idiot, I'm not idiot. Look ma'am it wasn't my fault. I didn't see you coming!" Said the hotheaded James Butler Hickok as he tried to stay calm. "Course you didn't see me, riding like that. You could kill someone." Catherine was getting more and more upset as she cleaning herself off. "I was supposed to be riding that fast. I work for the Pony Express." Jimmy said irritated. "That 's a good excuse, 'Mr. I was suppose to ride fast'. You are right. You weren't an idiot just stupid." At this moment Catherine realized that her horse had ran away. Jimmy got really mad but he didn't have time to say anything. "My horse, where is he? God, do you see what you did? You scared my horse." "I didn't scare your horse. You did when you stared to yell like a crazy woman." "Crazy woman?!! How dare you? You arrogant . . . !!" "Arrogant?!! God!!" Jimmy felt his face burn like it was on fire. Stay cool Jimmy, he said to himself trying to calm down his nerves. "What's the horses name? Ill help you find him and we can go home then and pretend we never met." "At least you aren't that dumb. His name is Thief." Catherine said as she started looking around for her horse. Jimmy was losing his patience with Catherine, but when he heard the horse's name he had to laugh. Catherine noticed. "What are you laughing at?" "Thief! That's your horses name? My God!" Jimmy couldn't stop laughing and Catherine got insanely mad. "Look, I don't want your help, so why you don't get back to what you were doing and leave me alone." Jimmy was loosing his mind. She's the most annoying, arrogant, obstinate woman he ever met in his whole life, he thought. "Ok, If that's what you want, I 'm going. Your . . . arghhh." Jimmy didn't finish the phrase though because he didn't want to start another argument. She gave him furious look and Jimmy suggested, " Look Catherine, I'll take you back to the town and then you can get someone to help you find your horse, ok?" Catherine looked at him again but now she was surprised that he knew her name. "I don't want your help, just leave me alone. I can get back home by myself. I don't want nothing from you". Catherine started to walk in the direction of Dreamville. Jimmy was already on his horse. He was tired and he wanted to go home soon. He didn't want to miss dinner. If she doesn't want my help that is her problem, he thought. "Ok then!" Jimmy said annoyed and left her behind. A few hours later Catherine was back in Dreamville after she found her horse. Bird got a big surprise when she entered the hotel dirty and furious. "What happened?" Bird asked without hiding a smile on his face. "Ooh!! That arrogant, stupid, rude James Butler Hickok", she screamed on the way to her room. "So you finally met Jimmy." "Met?! I was forced to meet him. He's the most irritating person. Look at me, he made me fall from my horse and then he left me in the road alone looking for Thief that got scared because of him. I hope I never meet that man again!" Catherine went in the room desiring a nice bath. "He seemed like a nice boy when I met him." Bird whispered. "Nice, I told you he 's irritating, arrogant and . . . . " Bird interrupted saying "And what Mac? I guess he's just as obstinate as you are." "Obstinate?! Are you his father or something? Don't come here defending him. Get out of my room. I want to be alone." Catherine hated it when Bird was right about something. She knew she had a bad temper. Bird got out of Catherine's room and standing at the door he completed, ''I will tell Laura to come here to help you prepare a bath, you are horrible." Bird said teasing with her. Catherine looked mad at Bird and closed the door. He walked away smiling. He loved when she got mad like that. In the kitchen Bird asked Laura to go up and help Catherine with her bath. Laura asked what happened and Bird just said, "Nothing, Catherine finally found someone just like her." Catherine didn't leave the room again that day. Bird knew she would be fine. She now had someone else to think about, James Butler Hickok. Bird went outside the hotel and as he looked to the sky he started to think about his life and how things change. When they first arrived in Dreamville, Catherine decided to reform the hotel. She made a big room for herself and one for Bird just next to hers on the top floor. But Bird always preferred living outside so he had a tepee for himself in the backyard next to the horses. He was trying to keep a little of his old life as an Indian man, so when they hired Laura, Catherine gave his room to her. Bird met Catherine and her father at a difficult time of his life. After Bird's pregnant wife and his 10 year old son were killed and he couldn't stay with his tribe anymore, he had much hate in his heart so he decided to leave the tribe hoping to find some peace in another place. A few months passed and Bird wasn't living very well. Living on a dirty street in some unknown city he was thinner, hungry and hopeless, but his life was about to change one more time. One night, Bird was alone on the street and two white men decided to make fun of him. They yelled at him, calling him dirty names and annoying him because he was an Indian. The men thought that just bothering Bird wasn't enough so they started to hurt him too. Bird was kicked, beaten, and left there to die. In the morning, the people passed by him and it was like he wasn't there as if he wasn't a person needing care. Bird thought he would die there and his spirit would be in that city forever without peace. Then something happened. Bird felt someone touching his hand, when he opened his eyes this gracious image appeared in front of him. A little girl with curly red hair smiled at him. He felt some peace and he knew in that moment that she was there to help him. Bird tried to stand up but his body was hurt and he was in pain. The girl touched his face and said, "I'm here now, don't worry". The girl looked at a man, Bird didn't know. The man was the girls father, Charles. Charlie, as the girl called him, helped Bird to get up and then Charles carried him to his hotel room. He yelled with the hotel's owner because he didn't want an Indian in his hotel but Charlie didn't listen. He called the town's doctor to take care of Bird. Later that day, Bird was sleeping in Charlie's room and the little girl was standing next to the bed waiting. When Bird opened his eyes the girl practically jumped to the bed with a big smile on her face. "Hi!! Feeling better?" The girl asked. Bird didn't say nothing just stayed looking around the room trying to figure out where he was. "My name's Catherine McCann, and what's you name?" "Wild Bird. I'm a Sioux." Bird answered Catherine, and she looked impressed. "My father told me a lot of things about the Indians, how brave they are and that they live in the beautiful lands full of trees and animals." Catherine seemed to be interested in Indian stories and Bird liked her immediately. She was sweet and he felt safe next to her. How could a man feel safe next to a child? Bird thought but that was exactly what he was feeling. Since that day, for almost 12 years, Bird and Catherine have been together. Bird started to work with Catherine and Charlie in their business. He gave her a nickname, Mac, and she liked it. Charlie McCann was an outlaw and he was always in some kind of trouble but he made a lot of money. Money that Catherine used to buy the hotel in Dreamville. Catherine and Bird got involved in Charlie's business sometimes. Something that Bird wasn't proud of, but he was there to make sure Catherine would be fine, so Bird forgot some of his beliefs to be next to Mac. She was like a daughter to him now. When Charlie got killed a couple years ago, Bird and Mac decided that it was time to change their lives, but they still had a problem to face, a rich banker called Matthew Roberts. He was a bad and cruel man, and a younger Catherine had been fascinated and had got herself involved with him. She thought she loved him but it wasn't love and she figured that out after it was too late. But when the time came and Catherine needed to make a decision about who should live, Bird or Matt, she didn't think twice and Bird lived. Bird and Mac had been living from town to town for the last year. They couldn't find a place to start all over again. Mac McCanns fame was known in a lot of places. Bird and her thought that if they were to have a new beginning, she would need a new name and a new town to start fresh in. She was Catherine Paige now and Bird was sure that everything would be fine in Dreamville. |

INTRODUCING CATHERINE! |
|
It was a beautiful Saturday morning, the sky was so blue. Catherine and Bird had a great Thanksgiving just a few days ago and they celebrated Bird's birthday too. She was happy and thankful for this new beginning in Dreamville. She could smell the breakfast being prepared by Laura in the kitchen while she stepped down the stairs. She went in to the office, sat down in her chair, and started to read some papers. Bird, as she called her Indian friend Wild Bird, walked in bringing some coffee. "Good Morning Bird, thanks. That's just what I was needing," Catherine said taking the coffee. "Good Morning Mac. I can see it was a long night?" Bird was worried about Mac. She was having problems sleeping. "Don't worry. I will be fine. You know me!" Catherine never slept more than 4 or 5 hours at, but since they arrived in Dreamville she couldn't sleep at all, not even 3 hours. Wild Bird nodded and left the room. He had things to do. The hotel was fine. They were having some competition with the Boarding House but the business was doing ok. Catherine had been in Dreamville for a few months now, since July and she and Bird are still doing some repairs on the hotel. They had already reformed the top floor and others things, but they were repairing the house in the backyard and some of the rooms. Catherine left the office and started to walk to the reception. She saw the sheriff coming. She liked Teaspoon because he had been nice to her. "Morning, Sheriff," Catherine said smiling. "Good Morning, Miss Catherine. You can call me Teaspoon. I told you that. Teaspoon said walking in her direction. "Thanks, but Sheriff seems more proper for a man in your position." Catherine said. "My position?!" Teaspoon was flattered. "Ok, Miss Catherine as you wish," Teaspoon smiled. He tried to get more close to her. He was hoping to start a friendship and introduce her to Rachel and the others, but she kept pushing him away. He didn't understand why. The only person that seemed to be her friend, besides Bird was the town's teacher Kathleen. "Well I better keep going, my duties call." "Ok Sheriff, have a nice day". Catherine went back to her office and Teaspoon started walking to the jailhouse. She could see him through the window. She would like to be his friend. He was a nice man but she was trying to keep distance from the people of Dreamville. It's better that way, she thought. The morning was gone. In the middle of the afternoon, Catherine was helping Bird with some guests when they heard noises coming from the street. They walked through the front door and saw Teaspoon and his boys dealing with some mean looking cowboys from the saloon. Teaspoon was asking the two men to drop their guns and walk with him to the jail. The two man were acting nervous and Teaspoon was hoping to end the situation without shooting anyone. Jimmy was with him and Lee and Cody were some steps behind Jimmy. At this moment Catherine walked back to her office and opened a drawer at her desk where she kept her gun. She wanted to be prepared in case Teaspoon and Jimmy needed help, but before she took the gun she had some thoughts about the last time she had used it. Images of her arguing with Matt and their guns pointed at each other crossed her mind. "There isn't time for this Catherine, take the gun", she whispered. Catherine hesitated but took the gun and started to walk to the hotel's door again. As she came out of the hotel, she saw a man walking on the roof of the dressmakers building. The man on the roof had a gun pointed in Jimmy's direction. For a moment everyone got distracted by the rowdy cowboys dropping their guns. Then someone from the saloon yelled, "Look, theres one on the roof with a gun." Too late, shots were heard from different directions. As the man in front of Jimmy dived for his gun, Jimmy shot him, and Teaspoon shot another man. The man on the roof falls and Teaspoon looked surprise because he didnt know who had shot the man, Someone just saved Jimmy's life, he thought. Jimmy was still a little confused when he saw everyone looking surprised at someone behind him. He turned and saw Catherine with a gun in her hand. Jimmy and Catherine shared a look for a little while as if they were examining each other. It has been sometime since the first time they had met. Cody said, "Hey, Catherine saved your life, Jimmy. My kind of woman, shes pretty and knows how to use a gun. Now I just need to know if she can cook." "Shut up Cody. Stay away from her Cody. That girl is nothing but trouble I can feel it." Jimmy said nervously. Cody smiled at Jimmy's reaction. "Are you ok?" Jimmy asked Lee. Lee nodded, smiling shyly. Catherine realized then that everyone was looking at her, so she gave the gun to Bird and walked into the hotel. Teaspoon walked in the boys direction to be sure they were fine. "Well, it was a good shot, don't you think Jimmy? Miss Catherine really knows how to get some attention. I will have a talk with her. Why dont you boys go to the jailhouse and wait for me there, ok?" Teaspoon said looking at Jimmy. Jimmy and Cody nodded and Lee asked, "Can I go with you Teaspoon?" Teaspoon agreed and they walked in silence to the hotel. Lee was quiet, thinking that she didn't like the look that Catherine gave Jimmy. In the hotels reception, Teaspoon asked Bird if he could see Catherine. Bird pointed at the office and Teaspoon knocked on the door and then went in. "Hi, Miss Catherine." "Hello Sheriff, what can I do for you?" Catherine said calmly, standing up next to the window. "I just want to say thanks. You saved Jimmy's life. And I want to know if you are all right too? Teaspoon wanted to be sure she would be ok. Lee stayed all the time next to the door observing Catherine's movements. That intrigued Catherine a little. "I'm fine Sheriff, I guess anyone would do the same if they saw that man like I did." Teaspoon noticed that she was a little nervous but he wasn't sure about the reason. It seemed to him that she was more upset with his visit than the gunfire, so he decided to end his visit early. "Well, I'm going. I need to take care of the bodies. If you want to talk about it just stop by the jailhouse, ok?" Teaspoon was curious about Catherine's talents with a gun, she shot very well. For such a young girl she had experience with a gun, but he kept his comments to himself. "Thanks Sheriff but that wont be necessary. I'm fine. If you don't mind, I have things to do."Catherine said looking into Teaspoon eyes and hoping that him and Lee would finally leave her office. Teaspoon and Lee said their good-byes then and left the hotel. All the way back to the jailhouse Teaspoon thought about Catherine. He was curious and decided he wanted to know more about her. On the other hand Lee didn't like Catherine at all. Later in the hotel, Catherine was working in her office when Bird walked in. Bird didn't say a word, so Catherine with her eyes in some papers said, "I don't want any comments." Bird then asked, "You don't want comments about the shooting or about the looks between you and Jimmy?" Bird knew he was in treading on thin ice. "Who's Jimmy?" Bird gave Catherine a serious look. "Oh, you mean Mr. Hickok?" She didn't know what but something had happened since the first time she had met Jimmy. "He reminds me of Matt a little bit. I mean just his temper, don't you think so?" Bird really didn't believe that Jimmy reminded him of Matt at all but he said it just to see Mac's reaction. "I don't know what youre talking about. By the way, Matt was a cruel man Bird, and hopefully no one will ever remind me of him." Annoyed Catherine left the office almost running from Bird words. Approaching the stairs she said, "I will be in my room. I'm tired. And Bird, no more Jimmy's and Matt's, ok?" But Bird didn't give up, while she walked to her room, he was behind her saying things she didn't want to hear, "You can't pretend you don't care about this boy just because you don't want these feelings, Mac. Matt is dead and its time for you to move on. You can't run forever. Jimmy might be what you need, sweetie". Bird knew that she was having different feelings for Jimmy and that she was hoping not to because of the hard time she had with Matt. Catherine pretended not to be listening to him, and she closed the door on his face. Bird just smiled. Catherine lay in her bed and slept for a few hours. Her ghosts appeared in her dreams. That night, alone in her room standing next to the window, she started to think about Bird's words and that he might be right about some things. "It's time to move on if I'm hoping for a better life here. I have a different name now and no one knows me or my past," she said to convince herself. "Jimmy," Catherine said walking back to her bed. This name has a different meaning now, but what? "I need to stay away from him." Catherine whispered, before closing her eyes and falling asleep again. |

INTRODUCING LAURA! |
|
When the stagecoach stopped in Dreamville, Laura felt she was ready for this new life. Two years ago Laura Brooks had to deal with her husbands death and her sons departure. A few days after Martin's funeral, their son Martin, Jr. decided to leave to go East, Laura accepted her son desires and said bye with a broken heart. Tired of being alone for the last couple of years Laura arrived in Dreamville with new dreams. That's why she chose to live in Dreamville, What could go wrong in a town with such beautiful name, she thought. Stepping down off the stagecoach with nothing more then a suitcase and the rest of the money her beloved Martin had left her, Laura walked through the street trying to figure out what she should do now. Just a few steps later, Laura stopped in the middle of the street and saw written with fresh paint on the building The Dreamer's Hotel. Now she said, "This is it, here is the place I'm going to stay." As Laura walked into the hotel she could hear two people talking inside an office. "I know Bird! I know we need help, but I'm still looking," the woman was saying. "I'm just saying that because you don't know how to cook," the man replied "What do you mean with that? I know how to cook. Ok, it doesn't taste so good sometimes but I'm learning," the woman said. Laura stopped next to the office's door but before she could knock, the door opened and the two people that she was listening to walked out. Laura then realized that the man was an old Indian and the woman was just a young girl. "Hi, what can I do for you?" Catherine asked. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to hear you talking", Embarrassed Laura continued, "But I did and I would like to help you. I just arrived and I want to work". Catherine looked at Bird as she was saying, "I told you I would find someone." and Bird realizing that smiled at her. "I suppose you know how to cook and have experience in housekeeping?" Catherine asked. "Yes ma'am, I have and . . ." before she could continue Catherine interrupted her. "You are hired then. By the way, my name's Catherine Paige, call me Catherine and this is Wild Bird, but you can call him Bird", Catherine said making the presentations and already starting to walk away. "My name's Laura, Laura Brooks" "Nice to meet you Laura, may I call you Laura?" Catherine said and Laura just nodded. "Nice to meet you," Bird said and Laura smiled. She was surprised to find an Indian living with a young girl like Catherine but she liked him. Walking to the kitchen Catherine stopped and looked back at Laura and Bird and said, "You two coming or not." Bird nodded and the two of them started to walk in Catherine's direction. "Well", Catherine said. "This is the kitchen, we have 12 rooms for the guests, 3 more for our use on the top floor and . . . ," as Catherine talked she showed Laura the whole place. Laura liked her. She seemed to be a nice girl and very sweet. Laura was curious about Catherine. She is so young and already has all these responsibilities. Laura thought but she didn't ask anything thinking that it would be rude to ask any questions. After showing the hotel to Laura, Catherine took her to what would be Laura's room right next to hers. "It's so beautiful and big. I can't accept it." Laura said to Catherine "Course you can", Catherine replied, "It was suppose to be Bird's room, but as you can see he's an Indian, and he prefers to stay outside, so as the new member of our home this is your room now". Catherine seemed happy having Laura there, perhaps because she missed having a woman around, she had been living with Bird and her father all her life. Laura finally agreed and Catherine talked about the payment and about the work and then left to give Laura some time alone to unpack her things. Sitting in the bed looking outside Laura was thinking about her life and despite the fact that she had lost her husband and her son had left her, she was in Dreamville and feeling happy. She liked Catherine and Bird and she had a feeling that she had made the right decision coming to Dreamville. That night Laura cooked her first dinner in the hotel and it was the best dinner she had made in years. Catherine and Bird didn't treat her like a maid or cook and the three found themselves eating, talking and laughing together. Laura felt as if she had a family again and with November coming she knew she could finally smile again. |

INTRODUCING EDWARD! |
|
When Edward Cole came back to New York in October he was hoping to convince his father to let him follow his dreams. After living the last 10 years in London Eddie now was hoping to be able to make his own decisions about his future. George Cole was very disappointed when his only son Edward told him he wanted to go West to be a cowboy. But he couldn't do nothing, he loved his son, and if that was what he wanted he would be happy for Eddie. October was over and Eddie was still living in New York with his parents. Ethel, Eddie's mother, convinced him to stay and think a little more before he decided to go to the Wild West as Eddie used to call it. November 20, was the date chose by Eddie to leave his nice rich life and his parents for the adventures in the West. Ethel cried for hours but Eddie didn't change his mind. He packed his things and left to fulfill his destiny. Eddie tried but no one in the Pony Express office gave him a chance to prove himself as a rider, so Eddie tried in all the cities with a Pony Express waystation, buy he got always the same answer that they weren't hiring anymore. In the beginning of December Eddie found out about this new Town called Dreamville, They might hire me there, Eddie thought. With this thought in his mind Edward Cole went to Dreamville. After arriving the first thing he did was talk with Teaspoon Hunter, the Sheriff and the foreman for the Pony Express. Teaspoon was nice with Eddie and told him that he wasn't hiring anymore but seeing Eddies disappointment he decided to allow Eddie to show his talents at riding a horse. Well, Teaspoon didn't need to wait very much because Eddie didn't stay on the horse too much. Eddie didn't have talent as rider but Teaspoon didn't want to hurt Eddie's feelings so he said that Eddie was too tall and old for the job. Eddie knew Teaspoon was just being nice with him and that he was a horrible rider. I failed, Eddie thought, "Now I need go back home and face my father." he whispered. Teaspoon heard him and he wanted to help Eddie. He is a good man with dreams, Teaspoon thought. Teaspoon decided to help Eddie and told him that the hotel was hiring people. Eddie knew that work in a hotel wasn't what he had in mind but he could stay in Dreamville and his father wouldn't know about his failure. That afternoon Edward Cole went to the hotel to get a job. He walked in and the first person he saw was Bird in the reception, a little embarrassed Eddie asked to talk with the owner. Bird asked, "What do you want with the owner?" "I'm looking for work, sir." Eddie answered. He was a little scared. Bird had this effect on people. "Wait here," Bird said and walked into Catherine's office. A couple minutes later Bird told Eddie to come into the office. Eddie walked in and he saw Catherine waiting for him inside. Catherine said she was the hotel owner. She could see that he seemed surprised. During almost an hour Catherine explained the job for Eddie and he accepted all the duties. That evening Edward Cole was hired as the concierge in The Dreamer's Hotel. Catherine introduced him formally to Bird and Laura and after that she showed Eddie his room. Eddie was surprise that he was very happy with the new job even more that he thought he would be. Later that night after unpacking his things he went downstairs and smiling he took his place in the hotel reception. "I'm in the Wild West now," he said. Bird and Laura standing next to him laughed and Catherine smiled and walked into the office again. |

INTRODUCING CHRISTOPHER! |
|
When January came the stagecoach stopped in Dreamville and Christopher James Hudson arrived. After facing an angry husband in his hometown he decided to pay a visit to his two friends, Catherine and Bird. CJ was impressed with Dreamville, well not with the town but with all the beautiful ladies he had already seen in just the few moments he had arrived. "It's paradise!" He smiled as a young girl walked by him. Entering the hotel, he saw Bird and Catherine talking in the reception with a man. "You sure are the most beautiful woman in this town, dear", CJ said. Catherine turned and saw CJ standing in the hotel's door. "Just in this town, Sir?!", she answered him. Bird just smiled and Eddie didn't understand what was going on. "Course not, the most beautiful in the whole country". "Well, thats better now." Catherine smiled, "What are you doing here, CJ?" "That's all you have to say to me after all these months, dear. I'm disappointed with you. CJ said walking out of the hotel. Catherine then ran to him and jumped into his arms. After kissing her softly on the mouth C.J. said, "I missed you dear." Catherine whispered in his ear, "Me too." CJ and Catherine walked in Bird's direction. CJ was very happy to see Bird and the two men greeted. "I'm happy to see you too, Bird", CJ said. "Same here CJ," Bird replied. Catherine introduced CJ to Eddie and Laura but she didn't talk much about who CJ was. Bird, Catherine and CJ walked out the hotel and stayed standing in the hotel's entranceway. "So, will you tell us why you are here?" Catherine asked. CJ stayed quiet for a while and Catherine insisted. "So!" "Ok, I will tell you he finally answered. "I had a few problems at home and Daddy told me to travel for a few months." CJ seemed embarrassed. "Who was she this time?" Catherine asked. Bird just smiled. He had known CJ for a year and every time he had problems it usually involved a woman. "The Mayor's wife Lydia", CJ answered with a dirty smile. Bird laughed. "Lydia?!! Are you crazy? Well, at least your father is the Marshall otherwise you would be dead by now," Catherine said laughing. CJ started to laugh with them two and nodded his head agreeing with Catherine's words. CJ said he was staying and Catherine told Eddie to give him the key to room 13. "Thirteen?! Well, Ill take it. You won't let me stay with you anyway." CJ said going up the stairs. Catherine didn't say anything after CJ's comment. She liked having him around and Bird too. Bird walked to the kitchen to help Laura with the dinner and when Catherine went with CJ. CJ dropped his bag on the bed and walked to the window. Catherine and CJ were staring outside the window and talking about the last time they had seen each other when Catherine asked, "How long will you stay, CJ?" "I don't know, but I have reasons to stay, dear." CJ smiled as he looking to the street. Catherine realized that he wasn't just talking about her, but about the girl that was getting down out of a wagon that Jimmy had just drove into town. "Stay away from her, CJ. She is just a kid," Catherine told him as she opened the door. "She isn't a kid. She is about your age when I met you, dear. I think you are jealous", CJ replied. "I'm not jealous. You know me better than that, CJ. There are lots of older girls in Dreamville for you to flirt with, don't go breaking that girl's heart." Catherine said. "Don't worry about her, sweetie. I don't want troubles. But you know me, and I'm available to all the ladies." "You havent change a bit CJ, but it sure is good to see you again," Catherine said and closed the door. CJ just nodded his head and smiled as Catherine closed the door. He has been in love with her since the first time he saw her, but she never felt the same about him even before all his advances. They became friends and he liked being with her and Bird again. "I will wait for you Mac, but in the meanwhile I will have fun with the others ladies." CJ affirmed as he closed the window. |

INTRODUCING BEAUREGARD! |
|
| Ten years ago Beau Fothergill had made a
dreadful mistake, and he had been paying for it every day since. At 37 he had been
impetuous, full of his own ego and self importance. He had been visiting his business
partners house for a gala ball, and he had too much to drink and too impressed with
his own self worth had forced himself on the beautiful daughter of his partner. It had taken several weeks, before he admitted to his shame and told her father of his duplicity, but at that time it was too late. The young lady in question had fled the city in shame. Beau was still an attractive man at 47, and could have any woman he wanted, but he had learned his lesson. He now searched the country in his position as vice president of a major railway company to search for the girl he had shamed, to both restore her to her family and assuage his guilt. He was no longer the ego driven hard businessman he had been ten years ago, years of guilt had softened his hard edges. Who knows what will happen if he finds the girl he had wronged so many years ago? |
