FEBRUARY 7, 1860

Gavin and his wife Jasmine had been talking earlier this evening about the prices that Gavin was trying to sell the horses for. Jasmine was suggesting that Gavin lower the prices so it would be a range most anyone would like and not think it was to high. He laid there in bed thinking about what his wife had said. He couldn't go to sleep no matter what he did. Finally he fell asleep.

"What are you thinking?" Came a loud shout from a young lady.

Gavin just looked at her as she shouted. He couldn't make out who the young lady was, but then it came to him. It was Lara, who worked at the saloon.

"So you think you are better than me because I am a saloon girl and you can just raise the prices of the horses?"

"No ma'am, I didn't raise the prices. These are the same prices they have always been, and I don't think I am any better than you are." Gavin tried to explain to her, but she wouldn't listen.

She stormed off in the direction of town. Next Gavin noticed other people popping around the corner. Some of the faces he didn't recognize, but some he did, like Noah, Buck, Lee, and Kathleen. They were all shouting at him saying that he is a hypocrite and made the prices high so they couldn't afford it. Gavin just stood there and took in all the things they were saying to him. He wished he had lowered the prices like his wife Jasmine had suggested. He tried to explain to them just as he had to Lara that the prices are the same as they have always been, but they didn't listen at all. They just kept shouting. Finally Lara popped up again and apologized for accusing him of being better than her or anyone else.

"Wake up Gavin," Jasmine said as she shook her husband to wake him from his sleep. Gavin woke up startled. "Are you ok, Gavin?"

"Yeah, it was just a bad dream is all."

"Are you ok now?"

"Just fine." He looked at her and smiled.

"Well, what was it about?"

"Lets just say that I am going to take you up on your advise to lower the prices of the horses." They both smiled at each other and got ready for the day ahead of them.
