"So why are you here and not causing all kinds of mischief, Elena?"

The young woman looked up at Anjanette in annoyance. She wasn't about to tell the woman of all her problems. Not only did she find a disturbing note in her bedroom, but she had been warned off by Luke, and even Ian had stopped seeing her for some reason that she could probably link back to Meghan. When it rained, it poured Elena thought. "No reason. Can't I just stay inside once in a while. I feel like I need a rest."

Anjanette pursed her lips as she glanced at Dean. If the look on his face was anything to go by, he didn't believe her either. "And you?"

Dean seemed surprised by the question. "Me?"

"Uh huh."

"I'm just resting until Corey gets out of work. We're meeting later."

"You will be in to work tonight, won't you?"

"Of course."

Elena rolled her eyes at the glow the young man exuded. "Are you taking Miss Priss to that wedding on Easter or are you not good enough for that?"

Dean seemed taken aback by the question, but Anjanette thought it was an honest one. A lot would be learned from his answer. The man shrugged nonchalantly. "We haven't discussed whether or not we're going yet."

Elena shook her head as Anjanette sat back with a sigh. "Well, what about the rodeo? Will we all be attending that?"

"I will." Elena said with a smile. "All those men. I'm sure there will be men coming in from other towns, too. It can't hurt to advertise the bordello."

"And you'd be the advertisement?" Dean asked.

"Can't get any better." Elena replied cheekily.

Anjanette chuckled softly. "Dean will you be going?"

He nodded. "Yep, I'm even entering one of the events."

Both women's eyebrows rose. "Really?" Anjanette asked.

"Yep bronco riding."

"Maybe I should enter the bareback riding competition." Elena said with a smile. "Then again I do enough of that for a living."

Anjanette slapped the other young woman's arm playfully. "Cheeky girl."

Dean and Elena both laughed loudly. "Well, if I can't enter the competition, maybe you should consider sponsoring it Anjanette." Elena suggested.
