AUGUST 11, 1861

It's been several weeks since the girl’s casts had been removed.

Destiny sat on the porch fanning herself as she watched the girls play in the yard. The girls were back to their old tricks. They had even managed to get her and Sean to have a romantic dinner.

She watched Sean off in the distance working on his next sermon. Her thoughts drifted back to the prayer meeting they had a few days ago. She didn’t know what she’d do if Jemima disappeared.

"Momma!" Jemima squealed.

Destiny was brought back to the present by her daughter’s voice. "Yes baby."

Both girls ran up to her with their hands cupped. "Look what we found." slowly they revealed two caterpillars.

"Well, we better find something to put them in." Destiny smiled as she stood and went inside to look for something to put the bugs in.

The girls followed close behind. They were happy because she was going to let them keep the caterpillars.

A few hours later, the girls went to Sean. “Da, Miss Jones wants to have dinner with you at the Silver Spoon tonight. Can I tell her that you will be there at seven?”

“Sure.” Sean knew that the girls were setting them up again, but he didn’t really mind the time he spent with Destiny. He had started falling in love with her. If the girls kept this up, he wouldn’t have to ask her himself and chance rejection.

They then went to Destiny, “Mamma, Brother Dennington wants to have dinner with you at seven at the Silver Spoon. Can I tell him you will be there?”

She smiled at the girls, “Sure.” She knew that the girls had set this up, but she was falling in love with the reverend and didn’t mind the time that they spent together, even if it was just because of their girls’ antics.

The girls then went over to the Silver Spoon. “Can I help you?” Caly asked.

Brianna looked up at the young waitress and asked, “May we see Mr. Montgomery please?”

“Well, he hasn't gotten back from his honeymoon yet, can I help you?"  Caly asked.

“Well, my Da..”

“And my Mamma..” Jemima butted in.

“And Miss Jones are going to be here at seven tonight to have dinner. We would like to pay for their dinner with our allowance.”

“Well, that’s mighty nice of you. Why are you doing this?” Caly asked.

“Because we want them to get married, so that we can be real sisters!” Jemima said as if it was obvious.

“Alright then, I guess that deserves our best table and best special with candles for light.” Caly smiled.

“Alright!” The girls said as they handed Caly their allowance.

That evening after dinner, Sean started to pay for the dinner. “It’s already been taken care of.” Charity smiled.

“By whom?” Sean wondered.

“Your daughters.” Charity smiled. She told them of the conversation that Caly had with them.

I wonder if I let this go on if they would propose for me, too.  Sean thought to himself.
