APRIL 5, 1860
Desiree was out riding. She decided to swing by the schoolhouse and ride back to town with Melissa. Desiree saw the children come out followed by Kathleen. Kathleen saw Desiree and waved. They had met in Jasmines Boutique one day. Though Kathleen didnt approve of saloons, she didnt judge one by their occupation.
Desiree rode up and said hello to both Kathleen and Melissa.
"Hi Desiree, youre getting better at riding."
"Thanks, Melissa."
"Are you going to attend the picnic?" Melissa asked as she led her horse over to the two ladies.
"Well, I dont think Ill get asked, and I hate going by myself." Desiree replied.
An idea popped into Kathleens head. "How about coming and you can give me a hand with the games for the children."
"Alright, Ill be there. You just have to tell me what to do, and Ill do it." Desiree was happy that someone had asked her to join in on the festivities. As Melissa and Desiree rode off together, they waved at Kathleen.
