"What are you doing, Desiree?" Ted
exclaimed as he took the kettle off the stove because it was boiling over.
Startled by Ted, Desiree jerked her hand
away from the paper, which left a long ink streak on it. "I was . . . I was,"
she went over and fixed the tea and then started wiping off the stove. While she was doing
that, Ted went over and looked at what Desiree had been writing.

"NO, I'm not going to sing it at the
saloon. Caly asked me to sing at her wedding.” She walked over and took the paper
from Ted. “It still needs some work, but it’s getting there.”

beautiful.” Ted said. Desiree smiled and then went back to work. Ted got back to
work, too.
