FEBRUARY 18, 1860
As Daniel sat back down behind his desk he said, "The town in Austria where I grew up was so small. It was run by my best friends father. He smiled as he thought about his friend David. We were so close. We would get into so much trouble. He would do anything to get his fathers attention. The town was so small any time there was trouble they used to look for us first. They just know we were behind it."
Ivy said, "Its sounds like he wanted his father to pay him some attention."
Daniel nodded and said, "Yes, he did. His father thought that it was a nanny's job to raise the children, and all David wanted was to spend sometime with his father. When I heard from him the first time he had found the attention he was looking for in a lovely young lady. They are planning on getting married this year."
Ivy smiled, "He sounds like he finally found what he was looking for. Do you miss seeing him?"
"Yes, I do miss him. But the best thing out of all that happened when we were little is he is very close to his father now. He even lives next door to them now." He stood and walked around the desk saying, "Well, I've taken up enough of your time Miss Simpson. Let me know if that medicine helps "
"I will. I sure enjoyed listening to you talk about your friend. I hope we can talk again soon." She stood, smiled and said, "Thank you doctor. Daniel nodded and walked her to the door. Opening the door he said, "Your welcome Miss. Simpson. You have a good day." Ivy smiled and said, "I will. You have a good day, too, doctor." and she waved. She walked back across the street. Daniel waved back then turned and went back into the clinic after Ivy was across the street.
