OCTOBER 8, 1861

Dagon and Palmer rode up to the school with Michael and the girls. “Wow, look at all the kids.” Palmer couldn't believe his eyes. He climbed off the horse and ran to where a group of boys were playing.

Dagon looked around. He spotted several kids that looked about his age. He noticed that a couple of the boys were standing off by themselves. He walked over and joined them.

Michael smiled because he was glad to see the boys making friends so easily. He watched Aisley and Tina talking to a few girls they knew from the wagon train. He soon found Melissa and joined her. He sat and talked with her. He was glad he could talk to her about anything. They talked about the upcoming events in town.

The school bell rang and Melissa helped Michael round up his soon to be siblings along with her soon to be sister, Jaslyn, and they all headed into the school building.
