NOVEMBER 27, 1861

Curtis, Caller Bob, Tye and Tyrell were sitting on the front porch at Sitzler's home.

"Curtis you're doing very well with learning the square dance calls," the mayor stated.

"Thanks Bob, but I need to practice some more. I sure could use a whole square to practice on."

"I understand. We haven't been doing much square dancing lately because of the trial and the couples having meetings with the judge. You know I bet I could get you a square together tonight. You can practice some basic calls. I've been teaching Tyrell, so her and I can be a couple in the square. I think I can probably get Michael and Melissa, Cody and Jacy and Jedidiah and Jewel, and that will make a square. Let me see what I can do. How about we meet back here around seven this evening."

"That sounds good." Curtis replied.

"So children how about we take a ride." The children nodded. "Alright lets go." Caller Bob stood up and the children did, too. They went to the barn and hitched up a buggy. As they left the premises, Curtis followed behind heading to town while Caller Bob headed to the Starshine Ranch.

Later that evening, eight people were assembled in Caller Bob's barn waiting for Curtis to show. It wasn't long until the amateur caller appeared and the dancing began.

Curtis got them confused every once and awhile, but all of them had fun. After about an hour and a half, they all decided to call it quits for the night. Michael and Melissa took off first on their horses, and Jedidiah, Jewel and Jacy rolled out of there in their buggy with Cody following on Prankster at the side of the buggy so that him and Jacy could chat.
