ARRIVING HOME FEBRUARY 14, 1860 |
| Cody
didnt have much fun at the dance. He wished he could have danced with that certain
someone, but he hadnt spotted her all night until now. He watched as she twirled
around the dance floor with Jimmy. They were having a great time, smiling and laughing.
Cody wished he knew how to square dance. Jimmy had tried to teach him a few basics moves in the bunkhouse one evening after Jimmy had been taught by Melissa, but it was hard with only the two of them. Cody knew how to dosado and left allemande and right and left grand but the other moves was too hard for Jimmy to show him without other people and they never had a chance to get the other riders together to practice. The riders had been very busy delivering the mail and getting ready for the dance. He decided it was time to call it a night. He told several people goodnight and then he rode Trixsy back to the station. Once he was there and he put up his horse, he went inside the bunkhouse. Lying on his bunk he resolved that he would never have the one girl that he wanted as he looked at the star broach that he had bought tonight to give to the star of his life, Jacy, if she ever would forgive him for being such a jerk. |
