AUGUST 2, 1860
Cody was heading back to the store after running a few things out to the station when Tyson stopped him. "Hello, Tyson, what can I do for you today?" Cody said.
"Well, I thought that maybe you would like to go to the bordello with me for a drink." Tyson inquired.
Cody thought about it for a minute and glanced around. He didnt see Jacy, and he didn't think she would be upset if he went for a drink with a friend. Besides it would also give him a good excuse to check out Jacys competition. If he learned anything that she could use to her advantage the trip to the bordello would be worth it. Because if he really wanted a drink he would rather have one in the saloon, so that he could rest his eyes upon his fair maiden. After making up his mind, Cody replied, "Sure I would like to, but I cant stay long. Javier has a date with Lilly this afternoon, so I have to mind the store by myself."
Tyson nodded. The two of them headed across and down the street towards the bordello.
They sat there and had a beer or two. Cody was hoping that Jacy wouldnt catch him drinking in the bordello. After a while he stood saying he had to return to the store. Tyson nodded and thanked him for joining him.
Cody smiled and left the bordello. As he came out the door Jacy spotted him leaving the place and couldn't believe her eyes. She wanted to confront him but she was to hurt to do that right now, so she did an about face and went back into the saloon.
Cody saw her and waved at her. He couldn't understand why she wouldn't wave back. He stood there and thought a minute and it dawned on him where he just came from. He knew he didn't do anything, but he also knew that she didn't know that. So Cody started over to the saloon. He didn't want her mad at him for something he didn't do.
Cody walked in and stood in front of the bar for a minute while watching Jacy sitting at a table. He was trying to figure out what to say to her, but before he could walk over to her she stood up grabbed her journal that Steven had just seen her slam on the table, went to the back and slammed the door to her office.
Cody didn't know what to do. He didn't want to barge in, and he didnt think she would invite him in. She had looked very angry when she had glanced his way right before leaving the room. So he decided that he better let her cool off a little before approaching her. He didnt want to make matters worse if he could help it. He left and went to the store to relieve Javier and to try and think of a way to make it up to her.
