was preparing the breakfast when Catherine walked in the kitchen. "Good Morning, Laura" "Good Morning sweet," Laura replied smiling. Laura watched Catherine playing with a cup of coffee. "What's wrong sweet?" Laura asked concerned. "Nothing Laura, I'm just thinking about this dance on Valentine's day " "Oh, that's good, I always loved Valentine's day. Martin used to do romantic's surprises for me." Laura affirmed happily. Catherine smiled while she stood up and walked to the kitchens backdoor. She stood there watching Bird fix the fence. "Do you have a date for the dance Catherine?" Catherine turned back to Laura. "No, I don't, but I don't want one. I'm going just because I want to help Kathleen get money for the school fund." Laura could see that Catherine wasn't very excited about this dance idea, but Laura was happy knowing that Catherine would go because of her friend. "Well, that's a good reason to attend," Laura replied. "Yeah, it is Laura," Catherine said a little disappointed. "But I'm sure you can find a date if you want to, sweet." "I think I could but sometimes the one you get isn't the one you want, Laura," Catherine replied as she watched Bird coming in the kitchen. Catherine continued, "Great work with the fence Bird, but you didn't need to do it right now." "I know Mac, but I wanted to finish it. " Bird replied. Laura stood quiet just listening to the two of them talking. She still didn't know why Bird kept calling Catherine, Mac, but she didn't ask. "Laura, I'm going upstairs if you need me for anything," Catherine affirmed. "I need to find that dark red dress I have for this dance" "The red dress? Don't you think that dress is too much for this town?" Bird asked. "Well, let's say that I want to shake up things a little," Catherine answered. Laura and Bird laughed while they watched Catherine walking out of the kitchen. "She wants to shake a certain young rider, that's for sure," Bird exclaimed. "I heard that Bird," Catherine yelled from the stairs. "I was hoping that she would," Bird replied. Catherine looked for her red dress in her belongs. After finding it she tried it on, but she had lost weight and the dress needed to be fixed. She decided to go to the dressmakers to ask Mrs. McGregor to help her with the dress. Walking into the dress shop she saw Jasmine McGregor and her daughter Rose in the store. "Good Morning, Mrs. McGregor," Catherine said walking towards Jasmine. "I'm Catherine Paige from the hotel." "Oh, I know. Miss Paige how are you?" Jasmine replied smiling. "I'm fine, thanks Mrs. McGregor. I need your help with my dress," Catherine asked showing the dress to Jasmine. "What beautiful dress! Where did you buy it Miss Paige? If you don't mind answering," Jasmine asked examining the dress. "Oh, I bought it in New York, Mrs. McGregor," Catherine answered. "It's a wonderful dress, but what is wrong with it?" "Well, I lost a few pounds, so I need you to tighten it in the waist." "Ok, please can you put it on? I need to see what changes I have to do to make it fit again." "Of course Mrs. McGregor," Catherine went into the dress room and walked out wearing the dress. Rose gave a big smile when she saw Catherine in the dress. "It looks beautiful Miss Paige," Rose affirmed smiling. "Oh, thanks Rose. It is Rose, isn't it?" Rose nodded yes. Jasmine worked on Catherine dress for a while. "Ok, Miss Paige you can take it off now." Catherine walked into the dressing room again and came out holding the dress. Jasmine took it from Catherine. "I think I will have it done later today. Is that ok?" "That's wonderful. Ill come back later to get it then," Catherine replied walking to the door. "See you later then Miss Paige," Jasmine said. "Ok, bye Mrs. McGregor, Rose," Catherine answered. "Bye Miss Paige" Rose exclaimed animated. Later that day Catherine walked back to the dressmakers to get her dress back. Jasmine told Catherine that she didn't know how much to charge, because she didn't have to do too much. Catherine insisted in paying something, but Jasmine said no, so Catherine said she owed Jasmine a favor, and Jasmine agreed. |
