JANUARY 7, 1861

Caller Bob decided that if they were going to have a square dancing club that the club should have a name, but he wasnt quite sure what the name should be, so he decided that he should have some help with this and also some help with organizing the club. The club needed to be formed before the students graduated. So he saddled Promenade and rode into town. He wanted to discuss these actions with Teaspoon.

Caller Bob pulled up to the jailhouse, swung off Promenade and strolled inside to greet Teaspoon who was flipping through some wanted posters before hanging them on the wall. "Good morning, sheriff. I hope youre not busy."

"Naw, not at all. I always have time for you. Whats up?" Sheriff Teaspoon inquired.

"Well, Ive been thinking about our square dancing club, and there are some decisions that need to be made." Caller Bob said as he sat down in front of Teaspoons desk.

"What kind of decisions?" Intrigued now Teaspoon moved the wanted posters aside.

"Well, for one thing, we need a name for our club. We cant just call it the square dancing club. Also we need some officers and organization within our club, so that special dances and events can be planned. Our students have learned all the basic square dancing moves and its time to graduate them."

"Hmmm . . .," Teaspoon scratched his chin, "Do you have any ideas on the name of the club?"

"Nope, I was thinking that maybe we should get everybody together and have them make suggestions and then choose the best one. What do you think?"

Teaspoon pondered on Caller Bobs idea, and then revised it a little. "How about you have Jacy put something in the paper about naming our club. Everybody could drop off their suggestions at the newspaper and then at the end of the month we could hold a meeting to name the club and elect the officers. That way also people in the club can think about whether or not they would like to be an officer."

Caller Bob liked the idea. After thanking the sheriff for his suggestions, he walked over to the PEG. As he was about to enter the place, Melissa came flying out the door and ran right into him. "Oh! Im sorry, Caller Bob." Upset that she had ran into somebody, she wasnt quite sure what to do or what else she should say, but Caller Bob let her off the hook real quick.

"Its ok, Melissa. If somebody is going to run into me, Id like it to be a pretty girl like you." He smiled at her, and Melissas face lit up and she returned the smile. "Why are you in such a hurry?"

"Oh." Caller Bob noticed the disappointment in her facial expression as she continued, "Ive been busy all day." She thought how poorly Jacy was doing the newspapers articles lately and just throwing anything into the paper just to fill it up and having it ready to sell on time. And how she was having to help pick out what she thought was the best articles to publish because Jacy just really didnt seem to care about the newspaper any more. In fact since she had returned to Dreamville, she just didnt seem to care about anything or anybody except herself. "Im finally done and now Im heading out to the Johnsons place, so Michael and I can help each other with our homework." Melissa really didnt need any help, but she knew that Michael hadnt been doing very well on his homework lately. So she had suggested to him, this morning when he was in at the store to pick up supplies for his pa, that she come out and they could do their homework together. Thinking that way she could help him if he needed it.

"Well, good luck." Caller Bob told her as she started down the stairs and on her way to the livery stable to saddle Braids. Melissa nodded and went on her way glad to get away from the PEG for a few hours.

"Good afternoon," Caller Bob called to Jacy as he entered the PEG.

"Hello." She gave him a quick smile. "What can I do for you?"

"Straight to the point we need a name for our club, our square dancing club." Caller Bob stated.

"And how does that have to do with me?" She inquired.

"I thought you could put an article in the paper telling the square dancing angels that we need a name for our club, and that they could submit their suggestions to you, here at the PEG. Then at the end of this month we would have a meeting and vote on the ideas for our club name and also elect officers for our club. Maybe you would like to be president of the club since you were the one that inspired a lot of the folks to learn to square dance." Caller Bob watched as Jacy changed from apathetic to interested.

"I guess I could do something like that." She nodded her head. "Ill get to work on the article right now, and hopefully Ill be able to get it in tomorrows paper." She sat down at her desk and started writing, so Caller Bob left her to the task in hand.

Out at the Johnsons ranch Michael and Melissa were talking about the graduation that would take place next month. "Are you sure Im ready to graduate?" Michael asked Melissa for the third time changing the topic from math to square dancing yet again.

"Michael weve got to get these math problems done. Now quit avoiding it." Melissa said and then asked Michael to tell her the answer to the math problem for the fourth time.

"Im not trying to avoid it. I just dont think I know all the moves very good." Michael replied.

"Thats very well, not very good." Melissa shook her head with a frown on her face. One of her ponytails hit Michael in the face.

Michaels feelings were hurt, so he said, "Hey, I thought we were doing math, not English."

Melissa didnt like Michael being sad, so she said, "What moves dont you think you know?"

Michael told her a few, so she demonstrated and helped Michael with the moves, and then after she was sure that he knew them well enough, she returned to the math books and started helping him with his homework again.

The next morning Jacy had a Club Name Suggestion Box sitting on the bench in front of the office. She slipped a piece of paper into the box, and then she took the newspapers around to various businesses to sell them. The PEGs lead article for the day was titled Whats in a Name? Give Us Your Suggestions!
