APRIL 8, 1860
CJ watched Laura calmly cooking the supper that night. It was weird to him, but he actually liked to be around Eddie and Laura. As Catherine and Bird, they kind of became part of his family.
"She is still mad at you," Laura commented.
"Who?" It was CJ's reply, but he knew whom.
"Mr. Hudson, please?" Laura gave him a serious look.
"I know, but it will pass, she knows me better, Laura," CJ affirmed, and he was right. Catherine wouldn't stay mad for much longer.
"She got upset with your discussion with Ivy the other day."
"I know but she understands me, Laura, and Catherine knows all she has to do is ask me to stop, and I will," CJ said. Laura knew what he meant. It wasn't a secret that CJ loved Catherine.
"She won't ask, you know it," Laura replied.
"I know," CJ said nodding, "Ill keep having fun then."
"And you sure know how to have fun, Mr. Hudson," Laura teased while she watched him putting his finger on the cake she had cooked.
"Indeed, Mrs. Brooks, indeed," CJ answered.
Laura went towards him and slapped his hand, "Don't touch my cake, young man."
CJ laughed and nodded, and when Laura turned her back to him, he took a piece of the cake and ran out.
"Hey!!" Laura shouted, and laughed as CJ was running out of the kitchen like a young kid.
