MARCH 8, 1860
CJ watched while Jacy was wandering through the streets of Dreamville, suddenly he noticed the young girl looking at someone else across the street. Cody was sitting at the jailhouse porch, and he was also watching Jacy. CJ tipped his hat when she started toward him.
CJ greeted Jacy as she passed by him at the boardwalk. After that he went towards the jailhouse. It was time for him to find out about Codys intentions towards Jacy.
Teaspoon from inside noticed Cody staring at Jacy, and when Cody stood up and walked in, Teaspoon turned his attentions back to the paperwork on his table.
Cody sat down in front Teaspoons desk in silence. Teaspoon knew Cody was thinking about something.
"Say it Cody," Teaspoon exclaimed still with his eyes on the papers.
"I don't have nothing to say, Teaspoon," Cody replied as he avoided looking directly at Teaspoon.
"Come on son, don't you have something to tell me, something about a young lady, " Teaspoon affirmed now looking at Cody.
"I don't know what you are talking about Teaspoon."
"Oh yeah, I'm too old for this game son, I'm talking about Jacy," Teaspoon firmly said.
Cody looked embarrassed, and he hesitated before he said," I don't know Teaspoon, I like her. Shes a nice girl."
"Are you in love with her?" Teaspoon asked trying to keep a serious face.
"TEASPOON!" Cody shouted
"What Cody? Are you in love with her or not? It's a question son, that's all," Teaspoon explained. He knew Cody was still confused about his feelings.
"I don't know Teaspoon, she is different, but I'm not sure if I'm in love. I sure like her." Cody answered, his face red from embarrassment.
"Well son, there it is then, she is a good girl. If you think she is the one, then you should try to spend some time with her to be sure."
"Yeah Teaspoon, maybe I should," Cody replied as he looked at the floor, "But let's keep this a secret ok, Teaspoon? I don't want the boys teasing me because of it."
"Course son, don't worry, it's our secret," Teaspoon promised.
What they didn't know was that CJ Hudson was standing on the porch, and he had heard everything they had said through the open window. CJ calmly headed off towards the hotel. A little competition only makes the game better, he thought.
