| Buck
arrived right on time. While he was waiting down stairs with Caly's father, he said,
" I hope to get to know some of my new friends. I hope Caly wont mind." Steven said, " I'm sure she wont mind. I just hope you two have fun tonight." Buck was growing nervous because he wasn't sure Caly would understand that he wanted to met some of his new friends, and that he felt comfortable with her to be himself and get to know the new people in town. When he saw Caly come down the stairs, he stood there with his mouth open. He had not seen her all dressed up before. Caly stood there at the bottom of the stairs and said, "Now shut your mouth, Buck. I told you I would be a lady tonight. You look great. Shall we go." Shaking his head Buck replied, "Oh yes. You look great." He offered his arm. Taking his arm Caly thought this is great, but I know that we are only going as friends. I wish he had the same feelings for me as I do for him. But I will let him decide whom he wants for his girl. He is my friend and I will be happy for him. He helped her onto the seat of the buckboard. After climbing aboard himself. They headed over to Caller Bob's place. They reached Caller Bob's place in good time. After helping her down from the buckboard and offering her his arm, they walked around and looked at all the things for sale. Caly offered to buy Buck a piece of cake, but he declined but bought her a piece and some punch. Then they each purchased a couple of raffle tickets. Then they found a table to sit at for awhile. Everyone kept coming by, and they couldn't believe that it was Caly sitting there. White Wolf walked over to the table and said, "Hi there, Buck. You sure look nice tonight. Who's your date? I don't think we have met?" Buck and Caly exchanged looks then he said, "This is Caly. Doesn't she clean up nice." Playfully slapping his arm she said, " Hi, White Wolf . You look nice tonight." "Thank you," replied White Wolf. Nodding to Buck, she turned and walked away. |
