For years I have bought and sold both new and used guitars (acoustic
& electric) and bass guitars and have always tried to make each find one that would produce a nice new or used instrument for someone to own, whether it was their first guitar, or their second, or whatever!!! Now being a luthier and knowing the real difference between good and bad guitars, I am able to pick and choose what I would like to have in my shop for resale. This includes a guitar, or any other stringed instrument, that has good sound and playability. The two key factors to a great playing instrument!!! There are all kinds of things you should be aware of when purchasing a guitar or stringed instrument. The two most important are ....like I said.......... sound, (how the instrument sounds to your ear and what your tonal preferences may be) and playability, (how well does the instrument play under your fingers...soft, or do you have to squeeze the strings real hard?). So.... when you're looking to buy a stringed instrument, take the time to ask a lot of questions and make sure the store owner has completely "SETUP" the instrument so it sounds and plays to the highest standards for your money!
