The "ID" feature is one that is very useful to allow you to place large amounts of information on one page and the user only click on a link to force the browser to automatically scroll to the desired section.  I find it best to use this feature with a page containing a table.  In this way, you basically name a cell in order to isolate it for the link as shown below:

The bolded areas are ones you will need to change in order to personalize this feature for your use.  You can get easily confused at the Link's HTML example shown here.  It is as easy as your URL with a pound sign (#) followed by the ID name, allowing no spaces.  The "desired" text will all depend on how you are building your page.  Be careful on the values here, they can really mess up your page if you aren't careful.
