I am searching for information about the parents of Charles McGuire. He was listed as a 22 year old laborer who was born in Alabama in the 1850 Jefferson Co. Census. He lived near or with the Pledger family. There were no other McGuire's listed near his Census entry. Charles married Sarah Hurst on January 22, 1854 in Jefferson Co.,AL. Sarah was the daughter of Spencer Hurst, who was the post master in Branchville, St. Clair Co., AL. I have been unable to determine the parents and siblings of Charles. I would also like to learn more about Spencer Hurst and his wife Catherine. I have a tremendous amount of information about Charles and Sarah's descendants and I am willing to share.

Francis Lee Collins had a twin brother born two days after him. The brother was sickly, and so, when their father, who was an "old school Allopathic Doctor", died when they were around 14-19 years old, leaving their mother to care for the two boys, an unc e of theirs took on Francis' brother and raised him in the profession of medicine. that brother is said to have still been alive in 1924, living in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a Physician by trade. Their mother died not too many years after their father, eaving the boys orphaned before their 21st year.
