FACTS:
Martina became the Grand Ole Opry�s 72nd member during the CBS special "The
Grand Ole Opry 70th Anniversary Celebration."
Martina has opened fro Garth Brooks throughout the US and Canada performing
with Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw and Clint Black among others and will be appearing
on the Virginia Slims Legends Tour with Barbara Mandrell, Gladys Knight and Regina
Belle.
Martina has opened for Garth Brooks throughout the United States, the United
Kingdom and Europe.
Martina and her husband John celebrated that birth of their first child in December
1994. Delaney Katharine joins her Mom and Dad on tour in 1996.
Martina was born in Sharon, Kansas - a town of 200 people. She began her singing
career with her family in a band called "The Schifters".
ALBUMS:
Wild Angels Martina�s first single "Safe In The Arms Of Love" from her third album, Wild
Angels, was a top 5 hit on the country singles charts. The second single and title track is
fast-approaching the top ten.
The Way That I Am Martina�s second album was TIAA certified in July 1995. Released in 1993,
it remained on the Soundscan album chart for almost 90 weeks. The album features her top 5 his
"My Baby Loves Me," "Life #9," and the award-winning "Independence Day."
"Independence Day" allowed Martina opportunity to dedicate some time during tour to speaking to
young women in schools across the country about domestic violence and ways to get help.
The Time Has Come Her first album was released in 1992 and featured the hits "Cheap
Whiskey," "That�s Me," and "The Time Has Come."
