THE HANK WILLIAMS MUSEUMS
HANK WILLIAMS MUSEUM
|
Montgomery's historic Union Station Railroad Complex was built in 1898. An impressive Romanesque-style structure, it was designed by the noted architect, Benjamin Bosworth. Behind the stations a magnificent 600-foot gable roofed train shed, one of only five still existing in the United States. Hank passed through this train station on his many trips to Nashville and this is also where he departed for Oregon to work in the shipyards in the fall of 1942. Today, The Main Hall serves as a museum to him. Inside are many personal srtifacts from his life, his friends and family, the main attraction however is the 1952 Cadillac that he passed away in.
