This is the first I've seen of Kevin on the net since I only just got on-line about a week ago. It's great! Living in Sacramento, I've "watched" Kevin earn his wings. Pat and Tom at 105.1 do great at keeping us informed. They were playing Kevin's stuff before anyone, and it caught my attention right away. Kevin's awesome.

Kevin's band was originally called "High Country" out of Utah. Kevin's road manager, Dave Thurman was the band manager and bass player before he became full time road manager. Some members of the original High Country are still with the band. I'm very familiar with these guys because I'm called "Mom" by all the band members.

I have an incredible amount of respect for Kevin. He is the best country music artist I have seen in concert and has the best songs. In fact I bought a pair of his autographed jeans that he sent to a local radio station for a benefit auction. I bought them for $500.00 but it was well worth it.

Hello. I am a friend of Kevin's since Bella Vista High School. I was there when he got cancer and I was there when he got rid of the cancer. He was so brave and strong. Kevin has been my inspiration to tackle life's challenges. Whenever my life seems down and out I think of Kevin and how he handled his fight and I instantly feel better. Kevin is a smart young man and a great example for his younger audience to follow. Thanks for the website and the room for me to babble about a good friend. Keep Rockin' Sharp!

I saw Kevin's new video of "Love Is All That Really Matters" and it just made my day! Instead of seeing two lovers in the video he showed that love can come between different people and any amount of people. It was anything but boring. I think he did a great job with it and I'd love to see more videos like that!

Howdy!! I guess I should start out by introducing myself...my name is Susan, and I run a website for Bryan White. Of course, I love Kevin, too!! Well, one of our local radio stations recently ran this article in their newsletter, the Ranch Hand Roundup: I'm in the doghouse with a record company. It's Asylum Records, and I'm told that their head promotion guy is upset. I figured I'd better tell you why... We were listening to a couple of records the other day that have absolutely nothing to do with country music, yet they're called country. One is Kevin Sharp, a young man we admire very much. And another is by Bryan White. Don't get me wrong--both of these guys are talented, great performers. We like Bryan White a lot, and hope that one of these days he will return to the country fold. But the facts are that both of these records are so far removed from country they have no business being played on our station. We made that decision, and those records are not being played today. It doesn't mean we won't be playing other songs by both of them, but for now, tehse particular songs that are being pushed by the Nashville machine aren't country and won't be heard. If you have thoughts about that or concerns about it, call and let us know how you feel. I have a feeling this probably goes over as well with you as it did with me! After all, this is the sort of thing that got Kevin's CD release date pushed back. I've got the many Bryan fans I know from the internet riled up about this, and we have sent quite a number of letters to Mike Oatman, the owner of this radio station and the author of this column. It just occurred to me, though, that we were having all the fun, and maybe Kevin's fans would like to join in! So, if this bothers y'all as much as it does us, write to [email protected] and let him know about it!! After all, he has no right to decide for us what the definition of country music is. The one suggestion I might make is, don't say anything that will immediately let him know that you learned about this through the internet, or that you don't live in the KFDI listening area...he's more likely to just dismiss the whole thing if you do. No, this might not make any difference in whether this station playse the singles from either Bryan or Kevin, but I, for one, feel better knowing that I didn't let it go by without putting up a fight. Do you know what his response to my letter was?? This: >Susan..our LISTENERS already have decided on these two songs..Nothing = >against the artists and they're not "Banned" By the way..country music = >isn't hard to define..what do you think are the country elements in = >those two songs? The "Token Fiddle" in Kevins Record?? Don't let him get away with saying things like that about Kevin's music!! Share your opinion with him, and let him know that Kevin and Bryan are just as country as most of the other artists out there! Thanks for hearing me out! Susan

Rats!!! Who are these music people to define what is and what isn't country??? We are having this same problem in Sacramento. The local country station says that the song isn't well accepted and until it does well they won't be adding it to the playlist. Country is ever changing, as is the rest of the music. Remember when Pink Floyd was big? LOL Traditional country isn't the way music is going these days. Maybe we need a new category. New Country or Pop/country. There has to be somewhere that these talented artists fit. I can think of a few songs that are popular right now that don't seem country. The first is Clay Walker's new one. I love "Then What" but steel drums and regea??? That is hardly country. Except for the accent and western sound of his voice, it is far from "country" Sheesh, when will these guys get a break!!! I, for one, am not going to give up!!! Pam

Kevin Sharp, you are my favorite singer. I am a disabled 19 year old boy who depends on my music and my computer for my life. I am on a home-program, relaxation therapy and all that stuff. I take grand mal seizures, and have an ACM II Malformation, so I stick close to home. Your life story really interests me, since I am a singer and I sing with my Karaoke machine all the time, have been on television, and I know that if there was hope for you, then there is hope for me. I have a strong faith in God also. I would like to congratulate you on your recent marriage, and wish you God's blessings and peace and love in your lives. I would be interested in your full story of healing if you could send me an e-mail. Thanks. Allan, Jr.

Hi There, First let me commend the person that made this website, but I must know a few things, and that is why is Kevin's "Nobody Knows" song so very familiar to Tony Rich Project's song "Nobody Knows"???. It is the same beat, same lyrics. Does Kevin know there is such a thing as copyright laws???? Please do not take this the wrong way, but I do not appreciate the cheap ripoff of this song or any song that is pirated. Thanks Mike

This is to Mike: If you did your research before making your critical remarks about Kevin's song, "Nobody Knows", you would know that Tony Rich gave Kevin permission to record the song, in fact in an interview they said they were very grateful to Kevin for his rendition. They have even had pictures taken with him. Also if you knew Kevin, you would know he is the kind of person that would never record a song illegally in the first place. He makes sure he covers ALL his bases before he records a song, including making sure the songs have a good moral message!!! Kathy

Great response Kathy! I've seen many photos of Kevin and Tony Rich together and read many articles where Kevin has mentioned Tony and vice versa. I think we are very lucky to have two versions of this great song available on the radio...it just means more people get to hear and enjoy it! :-)TK

Dear Kevin, First I want to say I love your music. I also think what you do for the Make-A-Wish kids is great. My family got to meet you when you where in Lubbock, Texas. My nephew Dustin enjoyed your concert you gave here. He has done great for two years. They just found another tumor on his spine this time. He may never walk again. But if he is anything, he is a fighter. People like you make life worth living and these kids have someone to look up to and know that what ever life hands out they can deal with it. So Kevin I hope you and Traci all the best in life. Remember that love is what you make of it.

I just wanted to say Hi and a late Congrats to Kevin and Traci. I have had the opportunity to meet Kevin several times through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, when I worked for the Sacramento chapter; and at Fan Fair '96. He is definetly one to watch. Kevin, if you get this-- I haven't seen you since the mini- concert you gave at UCD for the MAW cancer patients last year. Due to work and other commitments, I have missed your last couple of shows, but I promise to be at the concert in Vallejo this summer.

Thank you for being such a inspiration to me for not giving up when you found out that you had terminal cancer. Your experiance gives me hope for my future as an Amway Independant Business Owner (IBO). I learned about you from Mickie Vanni (your parents neighbor)when she told me about your experience with David Foster. She said that you sent him a tape recording of "Nobody Knows" you had made of another artist to express how you feel. As a result it changed your life. Incredable! I need people like you in my life to give me the example to push on myself. In some ways I have been closed minded to lifes experiances. For example, there was a time I would never have listen to country music. Now I listen reguraly because I found that I enjoyed it because I dance to it. People in my life would try to get me to go dancing and I would not because I thought I knew what it was all about. When I went and had fun for the first time doing it I realized that I was closed minded all these years. So now when a new experiance comes along I am more open to looking at it or being more involved until I get more information to make a decision if it is something I want to particapate in. Another go example is the Amway business I was so closed minded for 15 years because of a bad experiance with the pressentation. If the first time someone experiances electricity is by watching someone die in the electric chair, you probably could not get them to turn the light swith on either. Anyway, thank you for not giving up on your life. sincerely, Jim Marker the Markerman

Hey everyone! Well the big day is almost here! The album will be released on June 23! WOOHOO! The song line-up is a little different than the "original" version, but I'm sure you'll have no trouble finding a favorite! Fans of the rooftop scene in the "There's Only You" video will be VERY happy with the photos inside the album too! One word comes to mind...HUBBA-HUBBA!

I would just like to say I enjoy many of Kevin's songs, but am also inspired by the role model he is for cancer patients, and cancer survivors. I had lost my second oldest son 5 yrs ago 9/1/93, he would have been 20yrs old that oct 3. He was diagnosed with luekemia when he was 16yrs old and began a regimen of chemotheray and radiation treatments for 3 1/2 yrs and was in remission up till this time. when his treatments were just about time to be stopped he started feeling ill again and was diagnosed as being out of remission. His last hope was to fiind a bone marrow donor match and have a bone marrow transplant. We could not find a perfect match, but my nephew was one antigen off and the closest match to John. John was on the BMT floor for 3 months and his condition was up and down. 3 days before he left us the hospital said he could probably go home if his temp. stays down, but it ended up John developed a fungal pnuemonia and took a turn for the worst. I cannot put into words how this loss has affected me,its devastating to lose a child. My son inspired me with the strength and courage he showed during the yrs. of his treatments and the last days of his life as did many others who had to go the road he went This inspiration has helped me to carry on the best I can. I think you give those out there with cancer a reason to hope for a better outcome than my John had , and no matter where thier road may go you give them what they need during thier journey. I hope you will be active in the lives of those who are going through what you and my son went through . I know it made my son feel very special when he received a signed picture from Michael Jordan. I'm sorry if I wrote to much, but I just wanted to let you know you can make a difference in the lives of a cancer patient,They know when you say I know what your feeling, you do! Take care and God bless. Karon

Hi! I have seen Kevin in concert 3 times, soon to be 5 in August. (I saw him twice in one night at the fair!) I really enjoyed his show, thought it was awesome, but he didn't bring his toybox to Dollywood. :( And he forgot to "play Twister later" at the fair. Oh well...Kevin we need to play Twister...cuz I'll do it! *s*
