After the Great Tribulation.
According to Mr. Panin, the translation using numerics allows for a
constant check on the accuracy of translation. I have found his translation
of the New Testament to be very accurate to the Greek text.
There are some people who will not use any version of the Bible except
the King James Version. This is as if to say that the translators in 1611
were smarter or more capable than those today. Or that they were specially
picked out by God Himself to translate the Bible into English.
The KJV was translated by a group of scholars for King James, not
God. There are scholars today who are just as capable, but they
translate into our vernacular rather than the antiquated King James English.
I grew up using the KJV, but had little difficulty accepting some of the other versions after I studied New Testament Greek and saw that there were so many words in the older versions that were properly represented in the Old English language of that day, but do not give the proper meaning today.
There are some Bible translations that are put out by the cults which have been tampered with. One had even changed the Greek text to match their doctrines and published their version of the Greek.
I do not like paraphrases of the Bible, because they allow someone's own views to color the truth of the Scriptures. This is why I believe we should be able to look up words in a concordance to see what the Greek or Hebrew words actually mean.
Of course the endings on words and the context and tenses in which they are written also can cause variations in their meanings. Notwithstanding, we can still learn much by looking up words in a good concordance such as Strong's Exhaustive or Young's Analytical and there are other good ones as well. None of them are perfect, however, and I can show you mistakes in them. They are still the best we have to work with and I thank God for them.
Helps
Another problem area is Bibles that have "helps" as footnotes. Some are good and some are totally misleading and are actually hinderances. Accept them only for what they are, someone's understanding which may or may not be correct. After all, what we really want is to know the truth.
Please be open minded and willing to accept new understanding of the Scriptures where that may occur. I want the evidence that backs up what I say to speak for itself. I am not trying to give my opinion because it sounds good to me, or that I can be somebody. I am somebody only because of Jesus. Please share with me if you have points of discussion. Needless to say, I do not have all the answers, but will share in honesty what I do know by the grace of God.
God bless you.
