Information from: Strong's Exhaustive Concordance on the Bible

Look up of the word: World

Strong's lists Greek word to be: aion

Definition of aion: an age, perpetuity (also past)by implication, the world: specifically: (Jewish) a Messianic period (present or future).

Note--Be aware that everything after the colon (:) in Strong's is the KJV rendering and not necessarily the true meaning of the word. Because our language has changed drastically since 1611 when the KJV was translated, some words actually mean the exact opposite of what they meant at that time.

Example: "let" now means to allow. Then it meant to hinder or delay.

Hundreds of other words that were used in the KJV also mean something different today.
