Clay Jeffreys
Clay is from a small Southeast Missouri town called, Malden.
He learned to play the guitar when he was 17 and immediately began to write songs.
In late 1995, Clay auditioned for an Independent Record Label. This Label, Gypsy Heart Music, was targeting the European Country Music Market. Clay's music was introduced to this market in the spring of 1997. His first two songs both charted, one at number 9 and the other at number 54.
In December of 1997 Clay released a solo CD of his songs, called "Bustin' Out, Breakin' Thru".
This CD was also a big hit in Europe and was the # 8 most played CD for Jan. 25, 1998 on the ECMA chart. The ECMA chart is the main European Chart of all Country Artists, not just Independent Artists.
Clay has also had # 1 songs in the Independent Country Music Charts in Canada and the South Pacific, Dec. 4, 1998.
In Feb., 1998, Clay Jeffreys was selected as the "Up & Coming Artist of The Month" by the Texas Lone Star Country Monthly.
