Dale Earnhardt taught me how to fight and claw my way to the top of anything, even when all seems lost. He showed me through his own actions. When people were getting me down, he taught me to stand up and fight.

The only comfort I have found in this tragedy is that Dale didn't suffer. He died instantly.   He died doing what he loved most in this world and at the Daytona 500, the premier race. He held back Sterling, Rusty and the other cars to keep Mikey and Junior in the first and second postion. Dale was always one to bump and grind with anyone in his way.  He would not have been Dale if he hadn’t.  He gave Mike Waltrip the Victory that had he was unable to get in 462 racing starts.
