Ron's Hank Williams, Sr. Web Site
About Me
Well, My name is Ron McGough and I'm a 28 year old Systems Analyst in Montgomery, AL. I'm also, as you guessed, a big Hank Williams fan and have been for a long time. I live about 35 miles from the town of Georgiana, where Hank lived when he was young. I also live about 35 miles from Montgomery, AL where Hank grew up and spent a good deal of timeduring his short life. There's a picture of me and Hank Williams III inside if you just have to know what I look like. Ha! Ha!
As some of you may know there was a 14 year old boy in Montgomery in 1943 that Hank was teaching to play the guitar named Jack Loftin. I have had the pleasure to meet Mr. Loftin several times because my uncle, Lonnie McGough and his wife Sharon recorded a cassette with Mr. Loftin some years ago. I also have met Mr. Braxton Schuffert who played with Hank in the orginal Drifting Cowboys Band in the 1940's, in and around Montgomery. It is an honor to talk to people who actually knew and played with Hank Williams.
I started this web site so that anyone who is interested in Hank Williams will have a place to go to for some information. I have spent a great deal of time searching the 'Net for anything relating to Hank and I thought it would be a good idea to have a "central source" of information for people to use. And thanks for stopping by!
