the dream that came true
by

the moon was hung in the sky with care
your hair floated in the soft midnight air
it was your beauty at it's fullest...all i could do is stare.
the soft glow of the stars kindly met in your eyes
i was all but mezmerized
plump, cottony evening clouds slowly swep by
all i could do is stare
you remember how i waited all night
waiting till the time was right
for me to ask "will you be my girl?"
and as i lay down in my bed
fantasys and dreams roll through my head
of you....my one and only girl
i awake to songbirds softy singing
i wonder yet if im still dreaming
dreaming..and i hope not to awake
but dreamnt i didnt so i start to feel down
my smile slowly turns to a frown
cause my wonderfull, wonderfull dream did not come true
but as i look off to my right
the ring you gave me lay by my side
and a picture of you and me last night
