Rhubarb Cake

1. 1/2 cup butter

2. 1 1/2 cups sugar

3. 2 eggs (well beaten)

4. 1 teaspoon vanilla

5. 3 cups flour

6. 4 teaspoons baking powder

7. 1/4 teaspoon salt

8. 1 cup milk

9. 4 cups rhubarb (cut in 1/2 inch pieces)

10. 1 package (3 oz.) strawberry jello (dry)

11. 1/2 cup sugar

12. 1/4 cup flour

13. 1/2 cup sugar

14. 3 tablespoons butter

Cake part: Cream together butter and sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and add alternately to creamed mixture with milk. Batter will be quite thick. Smooth batter into a well greased 9x13 pan.

Second part:

Mix rhubarb with dry jello and sugar. Spread this over the batter, pressing the rhubarb pieces gently into the batter.

Third part:

Mix together until crumbly, the flour, sugar and butter and sprinkle over the cake. Bake at 375� for 35-40 minutes.
