CARAMEL DUMPLINGS


Instructions

burn 1/2 c. sugar

after the sugar is burnt Add 2 1/2c. warm water, 1 c. sugar, pinch of salt, 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 Tbls. melted butter

Boil 3 minutes

BATTER

1/2 c. sugar

pinch salt

1 Tbls. butter

1 Tbls. baking powder

1/2 c. milk

Flour to make a very stiff batter

Drop by tablespoon into boiling syrup and bake 20 minutes (exactly) on low heat in a covered pan on top of stove. Serve upside down with whipped cream. Comment: This is very rich and one of the best deserts you will ever eat. Of coarse it is low cal :-) DO NOT TAKE THE LID OFF TO LOOK AT IT while cooking.
