Makes: 6 sandwiches
Ingredients
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 pound flank steak, cut across
the grain into thin strips
1 onion, thinly sliced
2 tablespoons honey spiced mustard
6 sandwich rolls, split lengthwise,
toasted
6 ounces thinly sliced provolone cheese
salt and pepper
Instructions
1 Preheat oven to 400 degrees
2 Heat 1 tablespoon oil in heavy large skillet over high heat. Season steak with salt and pepper. Working in batches, cook steak strips until brown, about 2 minutes per batch. Transfer to platter. Drain any drippings from skillet.
3 Heat remaining 1 tablespoon oil in same skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and saute until golden brown, about 10 minutes.
4 Spread sandwich rolls with mustard. Divide steak among rolls. Top with onions then provolone cheese. Wrap each sandwich in foil. Bake in oven until heated through and cheese melts, about 5 minutes.
