SOUR CREAM COOKIES

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups sugar
5 1/2 cups flour
1 rounded cup shortening
1 tsp. soda
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp. baking powder
2 unbeaten eggs
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. nutmeg

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs, sour cream and vanilla. Sift flour with dry ingredients; add to first mixture. Roll out dough ( Iknead it a little like you would bread before rolling) and cut cookies.
Place cut outs on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes. Cool and frost as desired. Makes approx.. 6 dozen.
