ESCALLOPED CABBAGE


1 Tbls margarine
1 Tbls flour
1 cup milk  
1 cup cubed cheddar cheese
1 small head cabbage 
1 cup buttered breadcrumbs


Melt margarine over med. heat; stir in flour and cook until bubbly. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly; cook until mixture thickens and comes to a boil. Add cheese, stirring until melted. Cut cabbage into 6 wedges and cook in salted water for 5 minutes. Drain, and place cabbage in a 2 qt. baking dish; cover with white sauce. Top with breadcrumbs. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes. Yield: 6 servings
