APPLE CAKE
CAKE: 2 cups flour 2 cups sugar 4 cups fresh peeled and diced apples 2 tsp. baking soda 4 tsp. cinnamon 1/8 tsp. salt 1 cup chopped nuts 2 eggs
SAUCE: 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup white sugar 3 Tbsp. flour 1/2 cup water 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 cup oleo
DIRECTIONS: To make cake, dump sugar on diced apples; set aside until sugar is dissolved. Add dry ingredients, eggs and nuts; beat mixture. Bake in a 9 x 13 pan greased and floured, at 375 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. Cut immediately. To make sauce; bring brown sugar, white sugar, flour and water to a boil for 1 minute; add vanilla and oleo. Stir and pour over warm sliced cake. |
