Ingredients : Channa Daal(1 tsp); toor daal(1tsp); dhania/cilantro seeds(1 tsp); whole pepper(1 tsp); dry red pepper(1), dry grated coconut(2 tsp).
Fry all of these well and grind into a smooth powder..the powder can be stored for future use for upto 20 days in a fridge.
Other ingredients : Tomatoes(2), salt, turmeric powder(1/2 tsp), mustard seeds, water, lime extract/juice, 2 tblspns of toor dal(pressure cooked earlier), ghee, curry and coriander leaves/cilantro.
Boil the tomatoes in water with salt and turmeric
powder.
Add cooked toor dal, the powder(as above)
and let it boil for two minutes.
Add 1/2 spoon jaggery, coriander/cilantro,
curry leaves and turn the stove off.
Saute mustard seeds in ghee.
Add lemon extract(preferrably, 1/2 a
lemon's juice).
