Anya Alanna Lindir, youngest child and only daughter of Flora di Asturien and Lerrys Loran Lindir, has spent the past twelve years hiding from people. But when her laran decided to surface early, there was nowhere she could run.

With her favorite older brother Rafael residing at Aldaran as co-regent, and her two other brothers, Marius and Francisco, seeing Anya as an easy target, the young girl's two best friends are her horse, Thunderer, and her verrin hawk, Margali. She knows that Rafe's ward, Mabry, is currently at Neskaya, and hopes that maybe she might find her first human friend who isn't related to her.

Her laran is an odd combination of the MacAran gift, giving her a rapport with birds, enough telepathy to give her a headache, and the ability to levitate--which Anya is still working on controlling. Right now, she just spends a lot of time tied down to whatever heavy piece of furniture is closest.

Hopefully at Neskaya, she'll learn to control this, and perhaps get over a little bit of her shyness.
