      Title: Krautsalat   (Shredded cabbage salad)

      Yield: 4 Servings
 
      2    Cups water
      1 ts Salt
      4    Cups shredded cabbage
           (1 small head cabbage)
      1 ts Caraway seed
      4    Slices bacon, diced
      1    Medium onion, chopped
    1/4    Cup vinegar
 
  Bring water, with salt added, to a boil.  Add cabbage and caraway
  seed. Simmer for 10 minutes, drain and cool.  Cook bacon in skillet
  until lightly browned.  Add onions and cook until golden.  Add bacon
  pieces, onions, 4 tb of bacon drippings, and vinegar to cabbage. Toss
  until well mixed.  Serve immediately.
