• Ever wonder if it's necessary to remove the black vein on a shrimp? I know I have... It's harmless and really is a personal preference (mine has to go!) Here's an easy way to devein that vein without the fancy gadgets:

           1. Pull off the tail

           2. Make a tiny slit along the back with a sharp knife and lift the vein out with the tip of the knife
